I like the bottle mount idea! Glad the switch fiasco is over too.

Thanks, it's rock solid. Yeah the infamous switch came in today, so it's just a matter of having some spare time to finish it up right.

Well it was a long cold winter here on the east coast, now that the weather has changed, I've been able to get out there and low and behold it's finished.
After a B A D experience with my preferred shop and this latest announcement by EcuTek I'm jumping ship from the shop and uprev. Heading over to M&S Performance on Long Island this Saturday, having the ART pipes installed and a Visconti tune, looking for 93 / 93 aggressive / 93 w/75 shot nitrous / valet. May do the flat foot shift and launch control, we'll see not really sure but I'm super excited. I'll be taking video's of the runs especially when we spray for the first time. I'll post up the results. And pics of the install, I think it came out great.
Can anyone give me some parameters I should be concerned with when we tune for the nitrous. Thanks

To be frank, not good, not good at all! I wasn't going to post this unless the question was asked how it went, yet I feel it's the right thing to do. So get ready for a very interesting read;

Well get ready for this. I wouldn't let that arrogant **** sucker tune my weed whacker! That mother %ucker, we had an 11 o'clock appointment which I was on time for. I walk up to the shop and Mike introduces himself, I explain who I am and why I'm here. He has no idea about the ART install and has no lift available to do my car. He proceeds to tell me that John should have been there at 10 to tune a GTR then me. It turns out John calls just before I got there to tell Mike he's just leaving Conn., no call to me mind you. So 12:45 the **** finally shows up, walks right past me, mind you I'm the only person there he didn't know and proceeds to unpack eat his breakfast. At this point I'm fuming, I go into the shop and call out who's John, he turns and looks at me and says I am. I said to him well I'm Tom your client that you had an appointment with at 11. He says yeah so, I say well your a little ******* late no! He try's to bull **** me by giving some line about me getting there earlier then him so that the pipes could cool and Mike could swap them. Now Mike is standing there looking at me knowing that he's lying. So at that point he turns to finish his bagel and I walk out of the shop to cool down. The little **** finally decides to come over to me to half heart say "sorry". So we start talking and he has NO IDEA about the nitrous system and how to program it. At that point I let him finish looking at my car, told him I would call him. So if I were you I would look else where for a tune, unless of course your ok dealing with a little **** like that.
Know something about me, I'm 55 years old, in remission for cancer, own my own business married with two 18 and 16 and don't have time for scumbags who disrespect me, truth be told he's lucky I didn't.....whatever.
I will be posting this just like it reads here, only a little cleaner for the forums

John's had some other issues in the past as well. I have a WRX as well and follow his EcuTek posts. Some would say it was his fault and some won't but a BRZ and GTR both burnt down (like went up in flames) on his watch. All tuning carries risks and he's not the first tuner, nor will be the last who breaks a customer's car. Caviet emptor and your milage may vary, and so forth. Not saying he's a bad dude, just saying facts.

I think in the end you may feel what happened was probably the best for your car. Granted I'm in a different part of the USA than John and I know he does e-tunes for the WRX but I personally would take both of my cars to shops in Texas.

Lucky you didn't what..? oh please..

Look there's two sides to every story..

Clearly there was a mix up at the shop so you weren't able to get the exhaust parts you needed installed before the tune..so there was no tune, and I am sorry about that.

I know some people say hindsight is 2020 but really the moment you got to the shop and found there was some type of mix up you should have contacted me.. you've called me before so you definably know my number. I had spoke to the shop right before I left and at that point in time everything was OK so I had no reason to call, email or PM you.

You paint a picture that is a little different from reality..

The driveway is shared by 4 different businesses, M&S actually takes up the majority of the parking lot. When you pull in you'll see 10-15 different performance cars, box truck, pick up trucks and at least one car trailer in the driveway - especially on a Saturday. (Shop is normally full of cars too)

If I had pulled in the driveway and your car was the only one sitting out there I would have defiantly walked right up to you.. why would I walk past you? oh because I'm an arrogant bastard?

The shop has 4 employees including the owner Mike, Saturday everyone likes to come by and watch what's going on, especially when we have the dyno running.. I never know who's going to show up or who everyone is.. There were 7 people at the shop when I got there not including you, I didn't have a clue who you were or if you even showed up. ( Not sure if you noticed..you weren't the only z in the parking lot )

Yes, I walked in with food for the shop guys and the moment I put the food down I started discussing the cars we had scheduled including yours.. That's when Mike told me about the mix up and that's when you walked back in side asking for me John.

That's when we discussed everything.. yes Mike was right there and no, there was no lying about anything..What is there to lie about? I wouldn't have scheduled the GTR for Saturday if Mike couldn't work on your car.. its not worth driving 150 miles round trip for 1 or 2 cars especially on a Saturday. The GTR isn't getting picked up until this coming Friday... that's almost a week, I could have done that car another day this coming week. There was a mix up, it's that plain and that simple. We discussed the options and the only thing that worked was for you to come back another day..

So when I was finished eating is when you reappeared in the shop.. I walked outside so you could show me your car and go over your zex install. I asked you a lot of questions because the setup seemed a little complicated. You said you had a traction control box, I've seen one on a turbo Z before but wasn't sure if you had the same one. I was curious because we normally can do traction control via the ecu.. So I wanted to make sure we didn't have these systems fighting each other.. In the end it was just a system that could be programmed to allow the zex to spray while in certain gears.. how it does that with two wires.. RPM signal and a WOT signal I still don't understand.

I plugged into your ecu to verify EcuTek supported it, and it did. Before you walked me back into the shop you gave me a firm hand shake, looked me in the eyes and said you would be good for next week. As you walked me back into the shop you said you were sorry for not being able to stay, your family stuff at the Church and that your wife was up your case...you said " from the ring on your finger I guess your a Married Man so you know all about that family and Church stuff" .. I said yeah, it's no problem and sorry about the mix up today.

You confirmed some details with the shop and left.

I'm happy you could share your experience here, at least people know the type of **** I have to deal with on a day to day basis.

John

That's actually not true, there was a BRZ that had caught fire due to the customer's port injector install and somehow that got spun into my fault because it had one of my flex fuel kits on it.. I was only doing the tuning on the car didn't touch a wrench on this one..

There also defiantly wasn't any GTR that went into flames.. just sayin!

That's not to say things don't go wrong when we are messing with our cars, you work on enough cars and you see just about everything.. failures... success, strange customers.. you know

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

First of all I have never called you "you've called me before so you definably know my number" is an absolute lie!

Second, if you recall you reprimanded me for emailing more then once trying to confirm our appointment. Telling me you were on the phone with Zex, yet you show up and know nothing about the system that I provided you the info for. What do you think I just wired this **** together without knowing if they work together, where do you think I got the wiring diagram from, ZEX. Had you done just a little work prior, you would have known this.

"The shop has 4 employees including the owner Mike, Saturday everyone likes to come by and watch what's going on, especially when we have the dyno running.. I never know who's going to show up or who everyone is.. There were 7 people at the shop when I got there not including you, I didn't have a clue who you were or if you even showed up." ( Not sure if you noticed..you weren't the only z in the parking lot )
I was the only one there you didn't know in street clothes, that should have given you a clue!
Those Z's in the parking lot haven't been moved in years, if you couldn't tell mine from them when your at that shop every week well your full of it. You were to busy running into the shop to eat to see my car

Look you were supposed to be there at 10 Mike told me, be a man and own up to it.

How about the fact that I tried to meet with you prior to the tune so that you could see the system and I could have the pipes done, then come back on another day for the tune, your response was that M & S isn't taking on any cars unless there getting a tune. I bet Mike would feel great about that!

Look I can go back and forth with you, pointing out the fact that I acted like a gentleman and kept my composure is not a bad thing when I was leaving.

So once you discussed your plans while eating, don't you think at that point should seek me out and introduce yourself, after all I was the client waiting an hour and 45 minutes. No instead you had me stand there and watch you eat, that's when I came in and called out your name. Even still, you continued to act like a **** and could give a **** who I was. I have no reason to make any of this up, matter of fact, I lot has been brought to light about you. So my little DIVA carry on and by the way, I've seen you and you've seen me P LEASE

Let me ask you this, had I stayed you would have taken my money and tried to tune my car wouldn't you have? Even though you didn't have a clue which tells me you don't give a **** about the costumer only about there money.
Oh and by the way, I was in no rush to go home, I was in a rush to get the **** away from you. I actually went to RAD and had my pipes installed. I'm sure that's a fact that Mike would love to hear when he could have done the job a week ago if you would have let me go there without your take of the cash!

I read all about it, funny how a simple post brings out the true facts about someone, I got hit with info from ever where. Had I known what I know now. There would have never been a chance of us meeting.

Keep in mind, your costumer asked me, I didn't post until the question came up.
