LOL, Not another one...

Mine isn't FI, but it is extremely modified. When I had a random abs issue, I called the dealership, they asked if it was modded and if so, what, and I told them pretty much everything was modded and I wasn't expecting warranty work, just wanted it fixed. They worked on it, found the problem and didn't charge me anything, as it was just a rubber deposit randomly getting in the way of the ABS sensor. I think they acutally liked having the racecar in the dealership and having people look at it.
I've been thinking of asking if I can store it in their showroom instead of my rental locker! |

My suggestion would be to start from scratch. Have a vacuum pulled on it and check for leaks first. If it will hold a vacuum at -29 in/hg, have them add 4 oz. of A/C oil due to condenser replacement and receiver/dryer replacement. You do that after you have tested to see if it will hold a vacuum for 30min. If it won't hold a vacuum, get the leaks fixed at the receiver/dryer or A/C lines. Make sure all of the O'rings were replaced with new and oil applied before assembly.
I hate to say it but most tech's these days don't have the brain power to work on the cars of today. When it comes to electronics, they are dumbfounded. |

I used to take my SC car the Infiniti dealer never had an issue till they screwed the car up and the engine blew up, and then denied everything. Now my bolted car the dealer( different ! one) Loves the car talks to me about it all the time :) Depends were you go some really don't care and other are afraid to touch anything, Ive heard stories of FI guys being denied an Oil change at the dealer :/
Hope you iron this out! FL is hot man, |
Before I got reassigned to Korea, I took my car to a dealer in Austin for service(s). They took care of me every time and the same mechanic did the work. I just made an appointment, showed up, waited a couple hours, paid, and was on my way!

Car is at pep boys, fingers crossed!

Not that I would let them work on my Z, but I asked them specifically about service on modified cars. When that gave me a flat "no" for an answer, I gave him a scenario for brake work. They said they wouldn't do it because they didn't want to be held responsible for someone else's poor work. Really? I have 25K miles on my rotors that I replaced myself, and you guys won't even install new pads or do a brake fluid flush, neither of which require touching the rotors? That just seems ridiculous to me... |
