Do I have that right?
correct, terry's explanation was pretty good, the amount of oil is small when compared to the oil capacity of the engine.

cooler is always a good idea specially when considering the temps down here and also that you will probably be driving the car harder and also the engine reving a lot faster while in boost than when NA

On the way home from work, I took note of some peak holds which I haven't cleared since the beginning of this year. We've also had our share of 100+ weather. BUT ... I've never tracked my car so I've never hit limp mode.

EGT = 1453 at the manifold

Oil T = 233

Coolant T = 222

For reference at idle, the EGT goes down to 700-750.

So yea, the turbos will not add much more heat to the oil but under boost, the higher EGT WILL. If I tracked my car, I'd add an oil cooler.

Thank you Terry. It would be interesting to know what EGT an N/A car sees at the manifold.
