a supercharger bypass vavle is usually open at idle and low load conditions as well when pressure in the manifold is a set amount lower than pressure in the pipe.

a supercharger bypass vavle is usually open at idle and low load conditions as well when pressure in the manifold is a set amount lower than pressure in the pipe. so if you give it a fair amount of throttle the valve will shut and build boost until you you close the throttle and the pressure difference between the pipe and the manifold rises. By changing the spring or turning the cap you adjust at what pressure difference this happens at.
