Nobody makes coated OEM bearings?
So we'd only need to send you a flywheel if we were planning on using an aftermarket one and we wanted everything balanced together?

There is a company here in Tampa that coats them. now for the draw back...You have to take in count the thickness of the coating. Nissan makes a dozen types of engine bearings. We have to order one of every size and test fit them in our blocks. Long process!!

Not a big FAN of ACL, considering they went out of business couple years back.

Suggestions regarding the oil pump. That seems to be a weak issue with this engine.
Other than the NISMO race pump for $$$$, Any ideas on blue printing or upgrading internal rotor

That's a lot of money in RND and pray to god we get it right!

Yes, it does

I can think of a couple choices for our OEM crank bearings: coatings and shot peening. I might consider shot peening various engine parts. If possible, perhaps coat it as well.

We put the engine, Crank , bearings , rods and hardware into the cryo machine.

That's exactly what I heard about ACL.

What a fantastic price. This looks really nice.

COSMO 03-05-2014 07:54 PM

Now that is customer service guys..

Bobby I will have those exhaust manifolds off this week and shipped down to you..

COSMO 03-05-2014 08:06 PM

Wow that is a Great price!!! I'm sure most are wondering why my cost was a lot more but it was due to going with a long block instead of a short block. To anyone interested I will be selling the heads, crank, timing cover/chain etc from my old motor.

Awesome price. I want.

TerribleONE 03-05-2014 10:30 PM

Killer price. I was thinking more in the 8k range. Subd

It increases the the low boost performance by raising pressures to spool the turbos faster and provide more torque, of course anyone going over 15psi would be better off with the current 9:1 offerings as eventually with more boost the higher ratio is going to raise pressures too high. but for the guys in the 550-700 range it will be a more efficient built motor.

At high power levels the 9:1 motor will see less stress than the 10:1 motor, but the 10:1 more will make more power for the amount of charge it gets.

Doesnt make much sense to me to run higher compression! I guess the next question here is what turbos are going to run on this build??

blackonorange 03-06-2014 02:01 AM

That's a disgusting price

Mr&Mrs 03-06-2014 06:49 AM

At this price I may say F the C7 for a couple more years now I'm doing a 180 again. Not to mention being local. Sigh decisions!

AdobePhil 03-06-2014 07:29 AM

Son of a bitch. I wish I knew about this before I paid Nissan 11 grand for an entirely new stock motor. Oh well. I'm sure I'll be happy with the turbo when I stop by later today and see her on the Dyno.

Wow I would never put a stock block back in a car. You can almost always go built for the same price or less.
