Some people get better prices by being smooth talkers.

Or by giving back alley handies....I like to try and smooth talk.....first....

No smooth talk....just the handy...just don't look into my eye's.

To make a estimate I need more info from you guys.

1) Rebuild your current engine?
2) New bare block from Nissan?
3) Does everyone want the same CP Pistons
4) K1 Rods?
5) Cryo treatment?
6) L19's
7) Balance?
8) Build a short Block? Or long Block
9) Are you shipping the car down for the install

Building estimates are very time consuming and each and every one of you could want something different. I post up some prices for a brand new short block.

plus if we do a group buy, you guys will receive a better price on the pistons and rods.

I look forward to building all you guys a engine
Thanks
Bobby

Like I said before, no interest on a group buy. I would hope you would be open to selling me a built short block without the group buy. I was hoping to get a quote to recreate Cosmo's build with a fresh block, and also if I shipped you my block.

Ok, will do. can you PM me your email address? I will shoot you over a estimate.

Since I am local I would just let you use my current block. I like cosmos build as well. Almost forgot any alleys near the new shop? I haven't made it out to it yet.

By the way how soon are you guys looking to do a build?

Chuck33079 03-05-2014 09:41 AM

No time soon for me. I just want a number in mind if I ever need to do it.

This is something I'm considering doing to the VQ platform. We are having great success with our Subaru Blocks! ETS made 830hp on our block, PRS WRC Rally car with NO wastegate came in first place. These are not just off the shelf press in guards. We actually machine the block and deck it. Let me know if there is a market for them..Thanks!

Closed deck goodness! I would be interested. Is this something that you can do now if I were to send you a block or is R&D needed for our blocks?

Chuck33079 03-05-2014 10:05 AM

Doesn't the Z run hot anyway? How much more heat are we going to be dealing with on a closed deck block?

If you send me a block this is something I can do in about two weeks.

Actually no. I did a HR closed deck about 3 years ago and zero issues with heat. keep in mind the cylinder has water passages that only allow certain amount flow. The guards will have zero restrictions to the heads.

Chuck33079 03-05-2014 10:13 AM

So you don't block off any coolant passages with the guards? Sweet.

Wow. That's a fantastic price. A few follow on questions:
Are there coated bearings available?
Can you have the crank nitrided, or is it that way from the factory?
Would it help to send you the flywheel we're going to use so you can balance it together?
