So, i'm confused about one thing. After tuning do you stay driving around on your uprev map tuned for nitrous or do you have to use one for daily and one for nitrous. Is that what the window switch handles only activating nitrous between certain rpms and throttle position? Just wanna make sure i'm undetstanding. Thanks

Your window switch controls when the nitrous is allowed to be activated. 3200-6200 rpms set on the switch will not allow spray before 3200 and after 6200 rpms.
Your throttle position switch allows the nitrous system to spray when the throttle pedal is "floored" via either mechanical switch or voltage based.
These are seperate from the tune. Some progressive controllers like the NOS mini progressive have both rpm window and TPS switches built into it.

I would ASSUME that you would want to have a map for nitrous and a map for your everyday driving but I am not sure how others are setup.

That's IF you have a window switch.

I hope most people running nitrous have one. :tiphat:

Maybe wire it into a different switch?

:icon14::icon14::icon14: Damn it. I just watched the video for the Zex Window Switch.... I thought it wired into the damn Window button in the door.

Yeah I totally missed the train on how it worked previously. However. .. now i'd like to get one after seeing how they work.

i had a window switch when i was running nitrous on my mustang
its a must have for saftey
dont want to spray nitrous after missing a shift or spraying to low in the rpms booooom!

with a nice progressive system you can make your nitrous come on like a turbo car or a vortech/procharge type car easy

I might have an extra one laying around, if I can find it, I can send it your way.

*Edit* I only have a couple TPS switches laying around :(

Great read guy's. I've decided that this will be my next mod. Can someone help with a complete kit part number from ZEX. I see that we can use the kits from the 350Z, I'm just not sure which one. Wondering if this is the one;
ZEX
Thanks in advance.

LNATKFRNG 08-12-2014 12:05 PM

That's the ticket! Make sure to use progressive controller or window switch. Good luck with it.

tommyguns 08-12-2014 04:31 PM

Thanks for the help, I'm thinking the progressive controller will be the route for me. Just need a better understanding of the control as apposed to the switch. Any insight would be appreciated, which did you go with?

gbrettin 08-12-2014 05:06 PM

It's a few bucks cheaper here:
ZEX 350Z 07-09 HR 350Z Nitrous System NOS
