btw just to clarify for some people... I am almost 100% positive these manifolds are cracking due to heat stress, and NOT the weight of the turbo. I'm also not sure that these "new" manifolds will be any better in the long run... Just throwing that out there

elperuano 03-11-2014 09:17 PM

Glad to hear everything turned out ok for you 09. Peace of mind is very nice. No price on that.

I was stressed about it for a while, you have no idea. I feel very relieved.

Dzel 03-11-2014 09:27 PM

I'm pretty sure it will. Either everyone will get their money back sooner or later or they'll get what's been owed to them for so long. I'm just really happy that after all this some of is have found the silver lining.

Hi, the cracked manifolds that you have, are they from the original GTM twin turbo kit a while back ? The kit that you have to relocate the steering gear rack and also remove the front crash bar ?

They are from the only kits that actually exist..

I got the idea. But cracked exhaust manifolds is a very serious issue and it unknown what has been done to the new exhaust manifold design in order to alleviate this issue. Does anyone else run into this cracked manifold problem besides 09nismo ?

It definitely is a very serious issue, amongst many others.. Anyone who would still do business with this company after all this is just insane.. IMO of course.

Can you imagine how bad the quality of Chinese made GTM sunglasses would be?!?!? They would be absolutely terrible. The Chinese don't know how to manufacturer to save their own lives!! Lucky that a company like Luxottica who produce approximately 80% of the worlds eyewear brands don't have a massive manufacturing facility there........

oh!......wait......damn!......and I just paid $150 for some Ray Ban's! S$&T!

ignorance= lack of knowledge, learning, information
Facts= something that actually exists; reality; truth
Alkatraz= just plain stupid

ignorance = lack of knowledge, learning, information (ie. not knowing how a boost gauge works)
Fact = something that actually exists; reality; truth (ie. 40psi will kill a VQ engine very quickly)
Alkatraz = just plain driving his VQ every day

Looks like your going to stay that way for a good while too.

How many current GTM kit owners does it take to talk some sense into someone about the type of company he's dealing with?

Dzel 03-12-2014 09:19 AM

He chose his ground. That's all it is. If you want Al check the 370 and 370 Z34 Facebook pages and ask about GTM. Shoot check the 350, G35, and G37 forums and what they know about GTM. It's not just the 20 of us on this forum. It's most of the community that feels like this. We're just trying to help.

I just got an email from my bank saying they closed the claim for my refund from GTM. I guess that means the refund finally cleared. Only took 4 months.

Thank god for Sasha

Chuck33079 03-12-2014 10:22 AM

4 months to find $5-10k to refund you? Sounds like a perfectly healthy business that's not experiencing liquidity issues at all.

COSMO 03-12-2014 10:27 AM

It sounds as if they have to manually take it back from gtm instead of them just issuing you a refund.. No surprise here but I'm glad you have your money back.

Yup the refund had to go to my bank instead of my account at this point. My bank had already issued a temporary credit to me but couldn't finalize it until the claim was closed. I'm glad it's finally over.

Dzel 03-12-2014 10:49 AM

Selling immediately after a prototype is finished, charging the full price for products not yet made, and a growing list of past due deliveries and could result in a very bad ending to the story. It takes more than engineering skill and good intentions for a company to survive. Its a shame really.

G37sHKS 03-12-2014 11:30 AM

Okay this went way to far

Agreed. Aftermarket car parts companies always seem to fail on the business management side of things. This is why you don't let the engineers run the company. :rofl2:

FI is a good example to show how, had GTM done a few things differently, they wouldn't be where they are. FI never promised a date, for one. They flat out said "it'll be ready when it's ready". Also, they kept everyone in constant communication. Frequent updates help, even if the update is "Nothing new to report". And last, they didn't bite off more than they could chew. They didn't try to sell 100 of these things. They started with 10.
