I see what the article says BUT, the parts check list in the kit I have does not say 600cc nor is there anything on the injector itself that would help me identify whether it is 600cc or not.

Hmm.. I thought mine said it on them but maybe I got it off the paperwork. Did you buy it from Stillen? If so call them and ask.

So, on the subject of the car in DSPORT...

The baseline pull was abnormally high for a 370Z.

We can, however, normalize the results, which make for some very believable findings... It isn't exactly scientific, but it's better than nothing.

If we go with the "275hp stock" number that most people agree is the average...

275 / 293 = .939

409 * .939 = 384HP Stillen Baseline

All the other ****:
453 * .939 = 425HP.

Which is believable in ideal conditions.

That makes more sense. All of the other guys putting down 450whp+ had swapped out a lot of the kit's components.

Yeah, and just to be clear, me saying the pull is abnormally high isn't me saying that the car puts out more power than others.

It's me saying that dyno's correction factors are wrong.

Yeah, either it's a high reading dyno all the time, or inflated for magazine use. I'm sure it's a blast to drive, but people looking to buy a Stillen kit need to understand 460whp is not the norm. At all.

Beyond the norm, it's not even possible without significant changes to the kit. Plus I'd say 600CC injectors are gonna be close to their limits @ 460WHP.

Don't most of the Stage 1 turbo kits and the Stage 1 GTM S/C come with 660's?

In addition, the magazine claims 1.72 whp from an oil change. An amount that low is within the realm of run-to-run dyno variance, and can't be attributed to the oil change. The numbers are "buy these products from our advertisers" numbers.

Are you aware these numbers aren't accurate? Have you ever dynoed the car at another location to verify these quite frankly unheard of numbers, or are you going off the word of the magazine?

It's just the peak numbers that are incorrect. When you look at the change from stock, the Stillen kit gave you 116 extra whp. The custom tune added another 44. These are in line with the experiences of others.

Well Chuck... you are trying to school me here, but with all due respect, I'm very aware of dynomometers, correction factors, etc, etc, obviously you don't know much about me, thanks for your input but I don't need it, you are still missing the fundamental points here, and you know what? I'm not going to tell you what it is, it's too long to type all that, and quite frankly you driving a Z, we are having fun with our cars, that's what it really counts, anything else will be unwelcome because your statement/s are not showing finesse a remarkable lack of respect for people that are extremely honest with the community,etc,etc..

No need to do that Sir, there are many variables, but also many fundamental points, it's all good!
