GTM Stage 1.5 supercharger build

Hey guys, Can I use a thermostatic sandwich plate from an old oil cooler setup here or do I need GTM's inline thermostat due to the way the filter is

(it seems insanely expensive for the GTM line kit since I think it's just a Mocal thermostat) __________________ 11 Red Touring/Sport/Nav, 472/382wtq@7psi.. GTM/Tomei/Volk/Motordyne/Z1/JLAudio/Aeroforce/etc.. 95 S14 in progress, L33 v8.. T7575 turbo/SPL/MCA Suspension/Personal/Works Bell/OZ/etc..
