Boosted Performance round 2 list

I broke one to. They don't take much to break. They I found out they don't need to be kryptynite (spelling?) tight.

The thing about mine was I wasn't really applying that much torque. Thankfully I had a spare 2.5" t-bolt that I stole from my G3 intake. Guess I'll have to replace it before I install it on the buyers car.

vibrant makes them. Have used them many times, very good clamps. I broke a couple as well, sasha replaced them free of charge. if they break next time i loosen or tighten them, i will go with vibrant clamps.

If these are breaking, you guys are over tightening them. They really don't need to be very tight, as all the pipes are bead rolled. I have installed at least a hundred of these clamp and never had one let go, or even hint at failure. This includes some cars that are pushing 30+psi. Never an issue.

Hit 215 degrees on the oil today. This is with 75-80 degree weather. First time seeing 215 with the kit.

Well those muther ******* bad luck trolls are still clinging to me.

Want to know what happens when a boost controller goes bad on a dyno?

You get 19.5 lbs of boost and 680 torque to the wheels at 4000 rpm.

Good news is my engine is still in one piece!

So after I ripped that out we made 465whp and 430tq on 9lb wastegate springs. Probably going to be putting the 11lb springs in this weekend then going back to break 500.

Wow talk about glory dyno pull glad the the motor is still in one piece that is a hell of a lot of boost for a stock motor.

What was the WHP number at that boost level. ?

I figured you had a faulty mbc from our conversation. Did you do a compression test?

My car did a similar thing when one of the lines going to the wastegate came off. It sounded very very angry and filled the shop with black smoke. I thought for sure it was a goner.

I really think these engines can hold alot more than guys are pushing (given you got a good fuel running through them). The few blow ups on here have usually be attributed to other things (over revving, low fuel pressure ect).

I have checked my lines several times because of how close they are to the exhaust, so far so good, that silicone is pretty tough. I thought about getting small clamps to go on all the connections...might do that after Carlisle next week. I hate that exhaust wrap stuff but I might do the manifold just to be safe...
