What MPG are you getting after going F.I.

Considering closed loop maps (i.e. cruising or low throttle), I don't really see a reason why a turbo kit would decrease MPG. The car is just trimming itself to 14.7

Considering closed loop maps (i.e. cruising or low throttle), I don't really see a reason why a turbo kit would decrease MPG. The car is just trimming itself to 14.7 AFR, and beyond that, a tune that controlled open loop (WOT) behavior wouldn't really be beneficial, would it? As long as the car is able to steadily maintain it's target stoich. AFR, the turbocharger setup should increase efficiency.

Even though they are restrictions, per se. Of course, maybe I'm just speculating. :P

I think this thread is funny, talking about MPG in a FI car that's like a super model talking about how she needs weight reduction.

On the 350z we had with Vortech, the day to day driving MPG loss was 2.

That is true, but you also have to consider that the tune is where it takes advantage of all of those changes.
And I would bet most are designed to harness that open exhaust/intake design as quickly as possible to build power quickly. In the end I really really really doubt anyone is getting 30+ MPG on any forced induction VQ37.

By making the power easier you are increasing the efficiency of the motor which means less fuel will be required to make the same amount of power. This will then increase fuel economy based on how you are driving. Coupled with optimizing the fuel injection via UpRev, it can make a pretty good difference on the car. If your in it to win it at every stop light you will never have a very good MPG rating haha. Even a stock g37 we tuned who drove down from New York averaged 19mpg on the way down and 25mpg on the way back up after the tune and exhaust installation.

With my driving habits I pretty much get the same fuel economy which is around 22-23 MPG combined. Do you guys think 10% ethanol would drop fuel economy as well?

Isn't ethanol cheaper though? Might compensate for the extra gas if its cheaper.

Turbo size plays a big factor, a smaller turbo will spool higher at cruising speeds and absolutely increase mpg.
