Its not all about capacity its about the design, aerodynamics, flow, etc etc. but what the hell do i know anyways.
For normally aspirated applications, it probably does not make too much of a difference. But for SC and TT applications, there will be. Try to run hard at full boost for a period of time and the very obvious difference that you will see is the oil temp ( especially at ambient temp at 90F and over ). The goal is to keep the oil temp as low as possible during severe driving condition in order to avoid premature engine damage. Air flow is not much of an issue with the stock fans. When you have the intercoolers in the front, then it is recommended to use a properly ventilated hood, or better yet, is to replace with higher capacity fans.

Look at the GTR. The factory radiator size is a massive dual core and about as large as the GTM unit, The whole system uses about 12.5 quarts of antifreeze just about like the GTM radiator. Yet, the GTR comes stock with only 5 3/4 quarts of oil capacity. There is an obvious reason why a large radiator is needed. Just to keep the fire breathing VR38DETT oil runs cool enough. Well, TT the VQ37VHR to about 500whp will run no less burning hot than the GTR.
