New 4.2L with core : $15,400----was going to keep original engine as a back up.
Boost controller, race logic t/c..to control the hp, new clutch to handle the power, new exhaust, gauges etc.
You can't just thrown in a few parts and hop for the best with 800hp. You need to control it and make sure everything else will not explode the first time you get on it.
But hey good luck with your thought of you only need an engine build and larger turbo

I'm aware of how to build a motor and what's needed. No need to throw out a face palm dude. You are wanting a stroker motor which is something I don't want. I already have gauges, you want the race logic t/c... Some of the stuff you want isn't needed and is just for shitz and giggles. They are nice to have but not necessarily needed. I'm not saying $10k is what it takes to get a fully built motor done, I'm just throwing out a ball park number. Also I save on labor and parts that I get at whole sale. With all that money spent on your wasted sts kit you could have a semi built motor and a TT setup with 650rwhp+
But hey who am I to judge how to spend how others go about spending their hard earned money :tiphat:

Even with a stroker build, I couldn't imagine it being more than $10k for everything, including parts and labor. The motor itself, from Nissan, is quite expensive, however.

Does nobody plan on working on the engines and install themselves?

SPOHN 04-20-2013 10:36 PM

I am

Sweet I'm a little worried about the headers removal but am hoping I can take this on myself. I recently just stocked up my garage with jack stands, a car jack, and almost every basic tool one may need.

For my 350z it was going to be $8k I believe. It really isn't expensive to build a motor. Hell even a twin turbo kit can cost more than an engine build.
