I know for a fact that Mike stated you only have to pay half or some amount to lock in your group buy price.

Yes . True. That's what I was told 3 weeks ago. Now, when I talked to them many many months ago ( maybe about 6 months ago at least ) GTM stated that they only needed about a 30% deposit to lock you in. The more you paid up front the higher priority that you would have when they start shipping out these kits. I don't feel like calling GTM again since we have a real sensitive situation here. We deserve a true and absolute answer so there will be no need to go back and forth again and again,

I been in and out of this thread for the last HOW EVER MANY MONTHS....

but have this been ever brought up? it seem like the MHI TT-KIT Project Car is still not finish, as its still being mock up and tested.

if this is true *IM JUST WONDERING NOT CAUSING PROBLEM*
how sure are you that this is not a ticking time bomb waiting to blow on the hundreds of customer that are awaiting for their kit including me?

and if this car is still being work on? how did you set up a Dyno test without successfully finishing the "Project Car it self"

And yet we still dont have a Realistic Time Date

I rather wait 1-2 year compare to have a ticking time bomb and yes i know its just piping and such... but that why Greddy and other Company TT-KIT cost alot due to TESTING and QUALITY and CONTROL PARTS.

and yes i do agree that most part is from china and yes there are HQ parts

sorry for going off topic but I just want 100% Tested product on and off track.

and please stop telling us that you guys are close u said that 6 + Month ago.

I dont mind waiting, i just want a legit time and date.

sorry! if i have cause any issue i just wanna know!

I'm pretty sure that the first MHI kit was installed on a G37. Wattles is his username over on myg37.com and as as far as I know its still going strong after 12+ months. From memory the only thing that he didnt have was the new manifolds. He was waiting on the new ones (probably still is) due to the old ones rubbing.

EDIT: I just checked and Wattles hasn't posted for quite a long time. He wasn't very active anyway but I am pretty sure that he would have let the community know if his kit had blown up (or the intercooler cores had failed.....lol).

Wattled ended up with a built motor.

Add me to the list.

At 10k miles my motor went down with TT and oil cooler, dual intercooler setup. Boost was set to 10psi and WHP was just over 500.

My check engine light came on and the engine began to run very rough. I had it towed and the code the engine threw was a valve error.

Long story short, I now have a built engine after a long wait and Many dollars invested I hadn't planned on.

What can I say?
You play with fire, you can get burnt!

There you go!

I've not read anything that says anything improper happened or that any fingers were pointed. That's why it was a prototype. R&D can take a toll on a motor.

As much as I can't describe any aspect of this group buy without using the word "cluster", I wouln't read anything into the fact Wattles had to rebuild a motor. R&D is hard on a vehicle. That's why you test it in house before you ship to the general public. I would think he had significant financial incentives to be the test mule.

So...not to be a reverse devil's advocate...but we got a pretty good slew of updates, and we are still all yelling and hollering in a negative way?

:wtf2:

elperuano 02-11-2014 01:24 PM
