There's Level 10 Transmission in NJ that did fully built for me and SharpByCoop. It's way below $7K
|
Really? Care to enlighten me? Pm please. I'd love to know more about it. But being in Hawaii makes it that much more expensive.

Basically ther is NO ONE but GTM that builds up 7 speed's |
Ok first off it was stupid to do, but my tranny is stock and I'm running the gem supercharger kit and i maxed the speedo... The tranny was fine i checked it😃
|
based on the transmissions histroy don't make a habit of it, complicated machines are fun like that, it isn't a matter of "the trans is good for 350 so if you are making more than that it will fail" it is more of "the trans is good for 350 so if you are making that or less don't worry about it failing early as much" Once you start going over rated capacity no one can tell you what will happen, unless you go way over like if it is rated for 350 and you are trying to put 700 through it you will slip the clutches and melt it, if you don't something will break.
|
i guess with a supercharger you should be ok.
to be honest most of the supercharger kits barely make any big power on the Z. i've seen a few put up decent numbers but most are just ehhhh with the SC kits. i guess 7AT and a SC would survive. this is why i cant go boost lol TT kit only and 500whp min would be my target |

It could just be that first time you drive hard and shift 4-5 while still on the throttle and it pops, it really boils down to the extra TQ it seems. I have seen the TT guys with auto with more HP do ok but you have to watch out for the TQ and those upper gears. |

i get the slight throttle blip when shifting 4-5 in my 7AT. |

I would love to get a write up from someone who has messed with the Uprev transmission tuning for the 7AT. Not what they changed, but more so what the adjustments could do. Changing line pressure settings = XYZ results sort of right up. |

I honestly haven't opened up my UpRev in a while, so things could be further-updated now. But basically this thread gives the basics and some earlier opinion about things for NA cars: http://www.the370z.com/tuning/50754-...uning-7at.html
The only time I spoke with an UpRev technician about this (when I was bumping my line pressure table by ~5-10% to account for NA power mods), their advice was to datalog in Cipher to watch for the transmission slipping while in gear, and up the line pressures just enough to eliminate any logged slip. I imagine the same basic process applies for FI, you'll just need to bump those pressures a good deal more to get rid of the slip than NA guys do. I don't recall what the exact name of the Cipher parameter to watch was, but IIRC it was basically logging the complete drive ratio from engine to wheels based on RPM and wheel speed sensors. |

local strip allows passengers when running over 11 or 12 seconds cant remember either way i can have a passenger on my runs lol just typically i go alone though so i dont have to worry about someone gettign bored and wanting to leave or something lol maybe i'll run some data logs next time i go and see what happens. |
Are you'll can order the necessary components to beef the transmission internals from GTM or from Exedy then have a transmission shop that is experience conduct the installation.

well i take that back. i'd never see it if i ordered it to be done by GTM. they would just keep my money lol |
That is the route I may take.

i been considering giving mine some boost soon-thinking more down the line of the GTM twin SC kit....i do not want to open exhaust yet & wanted to try and keep quiet.
currently stock 11' touring/AT just over 275WHP & 243TQ....quickest pass in qtr. 13.13@104.89,,,not to shabby for open diff 3.359:1 ratio. |

they are out of business and ripped off many people here for thousands and thousands of dollars. secondly if you go the turbo route you can still have a semi quiet exhaust. turbos act like giant mufflers. |
unless you plan on building the trans( and there is no real solution yet) I'd stay away from a Turbo, the WTRQ will kill the trans. A SC is better as it will build WTRQ and throw it all at once at the trans. You wont make as much power but the tranny will hold, or at least longer, I ran my SC kit with 330 WHTQ and the trans was fine, Motor blew tho :( 457 WHP

level10 makes a built tranny that can handle over 700tq also Tony at FI now make their own AT upgrades which paired with their TT kit set the 370Z 1/4 mile ET record. just saying. |
I have made some updates to the details, GTM is now listed as out of business & have added Fast Intentions & Level10 with what details I have uncovered. If anyone can get me more details (potentially email) on the Level10 370z transmission built, components used, cost, etc. and send it my way that would be very helpful. Fast Intentions has not officially released theirs yet but have given some details on what they are using but no pricing currently. Will add more details on both as they come in.

My correspondence with Level 10 regarding the cost of their transmission upgrade
The BulletProof Transmission upgrade is rated to 750hp. Once upgraded all gears will be capable of performing under boost. The turnaround time is 3-5 business days. The Price for the bulletproof upgrade is $3995. This includes the transmission, ValveBody and Torque converter. Let me know if you have any other questions I’m always glad to help! The price I quoted you is for the upgrade which uses the transmission currently in the car. The upgrade includes the Level 10 High energy internals, Super pump upgrade, BulletProof ValveBody and BulletProof Torque Converter upgrade. We do carry the Bulletproof Transmission in stock for 6596+$1000 Refundable core + Shipping this unit if for the coupe only we do not have one for the roadster . |

I know level 10 makes one, Coop was running one is his( 5spd) tho, Is't there some on with a built trans from them a TT kit and trans has broke twice? I know level 10 is more than working with him on getting retuned and rebuilt but just saying there's issues there.

There's someone from the UK who did a thread on a Level 10 build recently.
