GTM is the only shop to use GT35 series turbo's (that I know of). They use a custom set of housing to make it fit. They have GT35 wheels but not a true GT35 housing. GTX Turbos are siiiick. Glad tony choose these. |
Quote:
The GTX3582 comes with a compressor housing that has a 4 inch inlet with 2.5 inch outlet standard. In order to make it fit it can be purchased with the compact GT28 style 3 inch inlet with 2 inch outlet. |

There is also no point in running a GTX35 because our blocks aren't good for that kind of power. The GTX3076 are capable of like 610hp each. So about 1200hp or so total.
Tony choose the perfect turbo's for the kit. The 28's will be good for 99 percent of the people that will ever own a z. Even if you plan to build the motor in the future they should be able to kit 700whp. Very few people take Z cars over 700whp. Sleeved motor's never hold up for vq's and the DE blocks were only good for around 800whp. Not sure what the vhr/ hr block will hold too. But if I had to guess it would be in the same ball park. |
Need more BOOST to get through hump day! >:D

OR ARE THEY?!?!?!?! |

Sounds like you have the stock compressor housing 4 inch inlet with the 2 inch outlet witch is the same as the standard size GT3076. This is the reason the compact compressor housing is used because of the tight space in the engine bay. |
Update,
Without going in to too much detail...We have the first set of production manifolds, and they fit! Let the installs commence. The first is scheduled to drop his car off this Thursday. We will be finalizing the installation instructions over the first 2-3 installations and then we will start to ship out. I will keep everyone apprised here on the forum with results. FYI, this first installation is a GT28RS car. In addition, like I did a few weeks back, I will email our current customers on the list to coordinate drop off and projected ship dates. Lastly, those who have purchased and kept the faith and patience in us, we thank you. It has been a long windy road but the light at the end of the tunnel is getting real big. Stay tuned, by Christmas there should be a good amount of 370z customers with (installed) FI TT Kits. If anyone has any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. Thank you, Tony |
lets rock n roll baby!

Sebastian was at our shop this morning. We spoke in detail about your install. I expressed to him that I am confident we should meet our original projection of getting your car in there sometime next week. He will most likely be doing your install at the same time we are doing the first production kit on our end. This actually works out great. SpecialtyZ is a very reputable shop and great friends. Seb and Greg are extremely knowledgeable and they have over 45 years combined experience on the Z. Having them 20 minutes away allows both shops to give each other feedback and dial in the installation manual. The feedback of another professional installer will help accelerate writing the instruction manual and effectively allow us to start shipping sooner! Thanks, Tony |
Thanks for the update. I am super stoked and have been having a hard time sleeping because all I can think about is getting my car to Specialty Z for the install. What I appreciate about Seb's is his straight forward approach and honesty. He is not is in it to sale me more than what I need to get the most out of my Z. Also there has been much discussion over the cost of your kit....I guess to each their own, my money and my fun. I also feel like I have bought into one of the most impressive teams I in the market place today. Yup...If that makes me a "Fan boy", then I'm all in!!!!

As for our kit being expensive, those who think that are not peeling back the layers of what is involved in putting just one of these kits together. They are comparing our kit to others that are on the market, and that is not a fair comparison. I have spoken to dozens of potential customers who were on the fence. Every single time in a one on one phone or face to face conversation with 10+ minutes to give them the facts and real comparisons, the light comes on and they all have agreed with me why our kit is the right choice. Sure, sometimes they say it is just out of their price range and there are no hard feelings there. I get it, I want a Lamborghini Aventador and probably will not be able to justifiably afford one in this lifetime. But I don't look at it and say, "it's too expensive!" I look at it and think one day, maybe it will happen. Back to our TT Kit. With the amount of time and care, quality of parts, consistency of quality, customer support before during and after the build, efficiency of how the kit will perform, reliability of how the kit will last, we know the price is fair for all parties involved. Right now this is all in limbo mode because the kit has taken so long to actually get to production. Once you all start giving your independent feedback the non believers and ones on the fence will start to believe and the others will cross the fence line. I honestly believe that. It is going to be a great holiday season for our customers. Thanks to all. Tony |
What's the 0-60 time?!?!?!
(I don't know if my text sent, but I was just giving you crap. I'm trying to massage CubanZ to get your kit installed) |

As for CubanZ I have met him in person. We talked in length. He has seen the prototype car running in person. We were trying to set up a marquee Sunday @ Super Car Sunday in Woodland Hills but everyone from FI @ SZ was out of town for a wedding. The event went well from what I saw in pictures. We are planning on having a booth at the Motors4Toys "Big Sunday" show on December 1st. All of our cars will be there including the prototype and some TT parts on display. I am confident that the 1st production car will be there as well along with maybe even another production car that SZ is installing over the next 3 weeks. Thanks, Tony |
Mmmmmmm... Sub 3 second times
|
If this kit had existed in Q1 2012 I'd have bought it in an instant. I'm trying to talk my buddy with a G37 into buying it.

Tony, Nice Update!!
I know for the lucky ones waiting, It'll be well worth the wait  |
The most expensive part of this kit was buying my wife a new car(CTS wagon).
The most difficult part...deciding how I want to drop off and pick up this car. Oh, I am DEFINITELY driving it home. I just hope I can keep my foot out of it to make it to the next e85 station without calling Allstate 5 times for gas. This may just be the greatest Christmas ever( Birth of 2nd child, FI TT kit, graduation, amazing new job, so on and so forth). Happy boosting guys! |
