S&R Performance Crash Beam

I was under the understanding that the crash beam in USDM cars were a 5 mph bumper beams, meaning it was to prevent damage to the mechanical componants in the front end in collisions of less than 5mph. Does the JDM model have the same beam? Their rules only require a 3 mph bumper beam, and they usually put a smaller one in. Plus, the intercooler itself will function as the world's most expensive crash beam in larger impacts. I wouldn't say it's unsafe, just far less than ideal since your new crash beam is an intercooler that probably costs around $1k to replace and prevents driving the car if damaged.

Please read the whole thread. As was discussed above, the 5 MPH bumper guard is the Styrofoam bit that fits within the bumper skin. The crash beam is a safety piece meant to absorb and redirect energy around the cockpit. The two are not the same in form or function.

I have read the whole thread. Several times. It doesn't seem to be as cut and dried as your slightly condescending post would make it.

Not trying to be condescending, but posts 15-17 already discussed the difference between the 5mph foam bit and the crash beam and post 23 by S&R already said that their crash beam is meant to be a safety replacement for the OEM metal crash beam. Trying to avoid any more confusion in the thread about the difference between the two.

Correct, those posts are a discussion with members arguing both possible uses of the beam. S&R's post is taken with a grain of salt as they're the seller of the part (don't take that the wrong way S&R. I'm still buying one once you tell me it fits.). I was looking for actual confirmation of the bar's use as a structural componant rather than as a 5 mph bumper beam. Hence the question of whether the JDM 370z's have the same beam, or a smaller one as they are held to a standard of a 3 mph bumper beam. If they use the same one, it's very likely the bar is structural. If they use a smaller one, it's likely it is only to protect the mechanical componants.
