The oil for the unit requires a change every 50k miles, so I have yet to need to change it.
I think some of the up keep can be done yourself, especially if you have some mechanical knowledge and the proper tools.

I plan on doing this at 30k miles, but the recommended interval is 50k miles or 2 years. I drive about 12k a year (give or take).

GTM sells a GTM SUPERCHARGER MAINTENANCE KIT for about $300. From the GTM web site:

Since the GTM Supercharger Kit requires that the Supercharger Oil and filter must be changed every 50,000 miles (80,000 km) or two years (whichever comes first), this kit contains everything you need to properly maintain your supercharger kit for years to come.

This Kit includes the following items:
  • 1 Liter of Rotrex SX100 Supercharger Traction Fluid
  • New Inline Supercharger Oil Filter
  • New GTM Supercharger Belt
  • Turbosmart Multi Spray (for cleaning/lubricating the bypass valve)
