Yea u need the custom tune from SEBZ !!!! :D

I've also had this kit on for 9 months and 10,000+ miles...ohh yeah and without a proper tune that I had paid for to begin with.

I've waved the STS flag and tried to hold my tongue on all the issues I have had with the kit. Mainly because I had the first AT7. If I can find an UpRev tuner and get this tuned I might come back to there side. As of now I'm about a 1/2 second away from ripping out this system, which when changing the oil is a royal pain i the asz to get to the oil filter, and going back to a stock set up. Now with the 100+ heat I can drive my car about 15 miles before it tries to overheat. DONE!

Have you talked to steve and Rick? I didn't know all this was going on

Nope bought the full tuner kit from them. Which includes tuning from STS. This has been ongoing issue since the first code was thrown back in Feb. First was a random misfire, which I thought was a bad plug but turned out it was the tune. In reality it was the motocross plugs.

Every tune that was done by STS was an e-mail tune.

I've dealing with Marc but I haven't talked to him for over a month. I had told him in an e-mail that when I bought this kit I talked directly to Rick Squires and he told me the kit was ready minus a few bugs to work out. Then they wanted me to drop another $3500 and send the car to them so they could map the car out and then get it their standards. Also it would make my car a templet for all other AT7 370's. Like I said early I realize they have yet to do a AT7 tranny and I would have a few issues.
This has been one issue after another and I been quit about it trying to get them fixed as they appeared with STS. After this last time I've had it with the kit.
Even when I had it at my tuners shop and he was working with Marc he was still unable to get the cars AFR above a 10. I'm still waiting on my tuner to get his UpRev license so I can have him do the tune. Which yet again was another $450 out my pocket which was part of the original purchase. So that's $650 plus at least another $1000 in lost work, fuel, etc out my pocket trying to get this thing to work but with no success.

Hell, I don't even know if the injectors were shipped with kit or if they were shipped if they were even installed. Plus, I would hope they would not send copper plugs for a turbo kit. I spent $200 on 6 new HKS Iridium plugs.

The tuner kit just includes the cable and a base tune to get you to the Dyno , I can't believe you've been driving with canned tuned for over 10000 miles

If they told you e-mail tuning would be alright, that's their bad for sure. E-tunes are fine for N/A but not for turbo. How are you sending them the e-tunes in regards to afr? If your using the factory o2 readings from uprev that's part of the problem right there. The factory sensors are not accurate enough and you will need to get them wide band readings. I chose the innovative because it will data log with uprev. Then at least you can send them accurate afr and they can semi smooth out your tune but your still going to have to hit the rollers.

It's the joy of FI, you always need to budget the slush fund on top of the turbo kit for unforeseen circumstances lol

The new STS Turbo 370Z turbocharger system has been over 1 year in development and testing. We are proud to release what we believe to be the best forced induction product for the Nissan 370Z.

Shame on this vendor for allowing one of the early adopters to have such a bad experience.

They SHOULD HAVE done everything in their power to ensure his car was well taken care of.

Tower74, I wish you better.

In STS's defense, they have helped me with all of my questions and inquiries same day or day after, like jamaica said, its all the tune. For what its worth im happy with my purchase and the whole kit it makes the power they advertise. Tower74 i also wish you better.

I too can not say enough about the service I have received from STS so far, they have exceeded my expectations. On the tuning stand point, I shelled out for an Uprev certified tuner to tune my car, and in saying that just recently had it re-tuned by Greg and Sebz from specialty z and it is a world of difference what they were able to do! You could really tell the experience they had behind them when it came to tuning and it payed off. I too wish you better luck Tower, hopefully you can find someone in your area that is not only uprev licensed, but also has experience with 370z's.

blackonorange 07-04-2012 04:09 PM

Lee , did they call you and ask you how your tuning weekend went?

Sebz from Specialty Z pulled the spark plugs in mine when he came up for a dyno tune and they were NGK iridium plugs. They were installed by STS when they installed my kit last summer so I doubt that they changed spark plugs after they installed on my car.

I have spoken to Mark twice since, he called me the next day and then about a week later too make sure everything was still good, as I said in an earlier post, I was surprised to hear Tower was receiving poor service from Sts as my experience has been great so far.

It's not the service at all. It's the lack of knowledge for AT7 and releasing the kit to me. The plugs are bothering me the most and also I'm wondering about the injectors now. Trust me I sent my car to a tuner(no uprev license...yet) and had Marc send him tunes to load so he could see what each tune was doing. Well after 2 whole tunes in 2 days I had enough. I had told Marc about what I was doing and when it was happening. I had to remind him twice to call my tuner. It not was like STS would of been out anything because it would of given them a base to start if anyone else wanted to go STS on their AT7. So now when I get PM's from people on here asking what I think of the kit I let them know the whole truth.
I've got some Berk test pipes I'm looking at and when I get back in late Aug. I will send my car to another tuner in the STL area. I'm DONE sending e-mails,calling, begging etc to STS. Like I said earlier I'm DONE with STS and their turbo system. Right know I'm just trying to get what I paid for already by paying for it again.:ugh2:
