The "most" reliable set-up is the one never made: A Nissan factory option with warranty.

Next most reliable would be any set up where the tuner knows his onions and the boost levels aren't pushed beyond what might break something.

I'd PM Sam at GTM if you are ready to buy and are not looking for a custom experimental set-up. They know their onions and are considerate of what power levels are likely to break or not break things...

I would think that the most reliable FI set-up would be the one that has the driver with the best control of their right foot.

That explains it then. The car looked pretty new back in 06-07 (can't remember when I saw it). I was probably making 330-350 HP with my mods on the CA18DET back then. By the time I realized that his car was fast and downshifted to get power, he had already jumped ahead by a considerable distance. I was sad and delighted at the same time, lol.

Yep, the company that is most sophisticated at tuning FI engines, would be the one I choose. Installing the hardware is usually not that big of a deal.

Thanks again!

I have an 09 NISMO, but my S13 hatch was a 5MT CA18DET until it shattered on the Autostrada in Naples. I replaced it with a Z32 unit and it was the money.

Not sure about whether or not Haltech's offering is actually a go or not, but I would say UPREV has a pretty solid solution for our application. I just wish Cobb would have stayed in the game.
