prelim. results

pros :
v-3 is very quiet blower
the car pulls very hard from about 4k to redline very differnt car
in person the kit looks great under the hood

cons :

very expensive project lot more then i planned
growth maybe limited with the air-water-intake set-up after a few runs that intake manifold is very hot
in centr. type supercharger fashion no real power below 4k = dont race the big boys from a dig lol
and as we all know i will need to get an oil cooler the car's oil is 220-250 deg.---a little sprint and its sitting at 245-250 not good

track times and more pic/videos to come

next stillen headers,clutch/flywheel and retune (then i am done on the performance )

ect.. maybe a nice vented hood would help keep that intake a little cooler

Mr&Mrs 08-29-2011 08:39 PM

Nice!

fuct 08-30-2011 01:15 PM

how can you say the car run great with little power below 4k RPMs and it reaching 250 with as you say, "a little sprint"? Especially since your average high in Baltimore is under 90 degrees. This wouldnt hold up down here in 105 degree weather....

(im not a GTM fan boy, just evaluating what the OP said)

Red__Zed 08-30-2011 01:17 PM

Nice

christian370z 08-30-2011 03:36 PM

I don't see an oil cooler, that's probably why the oil temps shot up so quickly. A 25 row is a must but I would rather have a 34 row to be safe with forced induction. That thing sounds mean on the dyno though! Great bang for the buck.

Nissan370 08-30-2011 03:45 PM

Fuct I don't understand what your saying? As for the oil temp I just need a cooler......over all I am happy with the kit .. I mean I was a phone call from canceling and going with gtm

fuct 08-30-2011 04:20 PM

it sounds like you cant really enjoy the car for any long period of time before it over heats. all im saying.

yes you need the oil cooler. it should help.

car does look good though

gabe3d 08-30-2011 04:25 PM

Very nice, do you have a dyno grap of when the car was bone stock?

Nissan370 08-30-2011 05:06 PM

Yea fuct true I was even thinking of adding water/meth to the mix If the oil cooler can't keep the oil temp spikes down

I never got a bone stock dyno

I will be hitting the track on Friday I need to get an idea of what the cars trap speed is dyno numbers sound nice but your trap speeds can tell you a lot

DIGItonium 08-30-2011 05:40 PM

Clean install. Congrats!

Dumb question... how does it feel compared to your Mustang?

Kirkster 08-30-2011 05:59 PM

Cool. Glad to have another SC beast in the area.

Good luck at the track. I could not get any traction at Crapitol the other night, but I do suck at launching in go strait racing. More of a road course / AutoX guy myself.

Rooskey 08-30-2011 06:01 PM

Looks nice.. BTW maybe a dumb question but how does the water circulate through the cooler / intake manifold. Does it have a pump or something?

5th image down, look at the intake manifold and then to the right of it. The black rectangular box is the pump.

That's the weirdest torque curve I've seen... :icon14:

i don't think meth injection will cool down your oil temps. intake temperature yeah and will let you advance timing or up the boost more safely.

there's a pump mounted near the drivers side fender and recirculates coolant into the tiny intercooler inside the intake manifold back through the heat exchanger.

that's just the coolant reservoir.

Nissan370 08-30-2011 08:38 PM

the mustang has a lot of torque
the parts list on the mustang is

longtube headers
x-pipe
cat-back exhaust
stg 2 blower camms
stg 2 heads (2v heads)
build shortblock (8.9:1 comp.)
v2 vortech w/ paxton fmic
8-rib pulley set
10% overdrive crank pulley

full built rear with 3.90 gears
alum flywheel and stg 3 spec clutch
315X35/17 nitto drag radials

coilovers
mm crossmember (front)
cobra dual fuel pumps and tank
60lb injectors

the car was set up for 17psi @ 7200 rpms but i was out of fuel at 6300 rpms

so the tune was set for 6100 rpms redline til i do the fuel system
but she was putting 8psi down @ 4000k and 14 by 6k

my best time at the track was a 12.5@ 125 and that was before i had the 8-rib set and the retune (make 40 more hp uptop once i got the 8-rib set-up)

i had major belt slippage up top using a 2.87 6-rib pulley

Brad370 08-30-2011 09:40 PM

Nice!

Very nice! Wish I had the cash to drop this in.

It's mostly just the narrow scaling range and the fact they differ for HP and trq. Makes the chart look like unusual.

LateralG'z 09-06-2011 07:45 PM

You should put it in the Forced Induction Section

Very nice build man, I'm strongly thinking of going this route as long as things work out. I'm interested to know what you paid for the s/c kit and the install if you don't mind or in a pm if you don't mind.

I am selling my SC if you are interested?

Did your track time ever happen?

Nissan370 09-23-2011 11:43 AM

Was going to go today but it's been raining all week so maybe next Friday

How much???

superchargedg 09-23-2011 07:15 PM

Its kinda weird that Stillen still likes the air to water cooled intercooler's like what i had with the old style roots blower.

Nissan370 09-24-2011 12:48 PM

I wonder just how much boost can be pushed be for the intercooler is no longer effective i am going to push this kit as far as it will go when i get the motor built

Best thing you can do is upgrade the heat exchanger, FrozenBoost.com sells a few. Then install an IAT sensor into the manifold after the IC and do some proper data logging. I dont know what "safe" IAT's are for this car though, NA the engine doesn't see much beyond ambient. Sam at GTM or anyone with a GTM SC/TT kit that data logs could tell you how hot those setups are running.

If all else fails, its time for meth injection

Nissan370 09-24-2011 07:01 PM

yes to meth i was thinking about using it will talk to my tuner

Nissan370 10-07-2011 11:29 PM

tried to get some track times i want to capital today but on my first run the car went into limp mode in 3 gear so i will not be back until i get an oil cooler

but even after i let the car cool down i could not rev pass 5000rpms so i want home

now my exhaust note sounds a little fun i will chk the spark plugs in the morning and reset the ecu

Nissan370 12-21-2011 07:02 AM

dropped down to stillens 9lb pulley and a retune

seeing about 10psi on the top-end

new number 480/350 up from 450/330

will post dyno

kellyefields 12-21-2011 07:41 AM

What type of dyno are you using. I did 405 on a mustang dyno which I know reads low so I would like to estimate what I would be doing on a dynojet just as a reference.

edub370 12-21-2011 11:32 AM

i need to get a stillen kit asap

I love Stillen. But if/when I go FI its gonna be GTM.

Nissan370 12-21-2011 04:22 PM

dyno is on a dyno pack

http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l1.../home009-1.jpg
just touching 480 mark at redline
much better torque under the curve maybe do to tuning the car for more torque
boost gauge was reading 10-10.5 at redline
-------------------------
http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l1...r/IMG_6683.jpg
old dyno
boost gauge was reading 8-9psi at redline

Sorry, don't take this the wrong way, and I'm not sure if you are aware of it, but the dyno graph that you are showing is off of a Dyna pack hub-dyno. Also, it clearly shows that it is reading flywheel horsepower and torque...not wheel horsepower and torque.

It is not a Dynojet. On JE Import's website, it clearly says DYNA PACK.

Nismo370 12-21-2011 07:13 PM

Lmfao smh noobs
