Mine went up to like 10-15 degrees i think that is the air isnt as cool blowing through the oil cooler any more

future370zzz 07-14-2014 02:59 PM

So, does the benefit of lowering ait to the manifold X degrees (with larger heat exchanger) outweigh the increased oil temp (blockage of air flow from larger heat exchanger?

Masterbeatty 07-14-2014 06:29 PM

Maybe switching to a stillen front fascia and moving the oil cooler over might get better cooling.

LukasC 07-15-2014 01:26 AM

Yea it definitely does in my opinion. I have an idea to help draw air through it but havnt bought the parts to do so. But a mishimoto radiator will probably be in my future

theDreamer 07-15-2014 08:29 AM

Another suggestion on the oil cooler is move it to where GTM SC kits place it, under the driver headlight off to the side.
This allows for 2 things to happen, not directly between intercooler/radiator, and can vent the fender liner to allow air to push through. I believe one guy even slapped a simple fan to pull air through if temps got above a certain level and he never had issues.

ANMVQ 07-15-2014 09:14 AM

I guess the Z front is really that different I had no issue with my oil cooler or temps, Mine wasn't blocked. Not sure if they moved tho :/

I think I need this now, not only for looks but with my high boost kit I feel it's necessary.

ANMVQ 07-30-2014 12:36 PM

Yes you are!

BlueDemon 08-04-2014 03:53 PM

Guys sorry if this a question that has been asked before, but 1, are you able to keep crash bar with stillen sc kit, and 2, what is this talk about the heat exchanger? Please fill me in that would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

ANMVQ 08-04-2014 05:23 PM

The SC is bolt on and the crash bar has to only be move IF you upgrade the Stillens heat exchanger with the frozenboost one. If you keep there's you don't have to mess with the crash bar

You can keep the crash bar as is if you install the stillen SC kit, if you change the heat exchanger to this one which most of us are running - https://www.frozenboost.com/water-to...b2d859c5f4e893

you need to modify the crash bar (cut/flip the crash bar to make it all fit in and modify the front bar).

even though they say the kit is "bolt-on" there is still a lot of customisation that needs to be done to install the kit, main regards for this are the fuel pump install/throttle body and fuse box wiring/cutting of some small body pieces.

My "Z" has engine problems
I still do not know what happened, but unfortunately I could not turn any single lap of the Nürburgring Nordschleife.

It runs, but blue smoke comes out
I hope it is nothing serious...
I will report as soon as I know more
