Hey Ivo, You welcome man!! Looking GOOD! Any time I can help out let me know.. in too for installed pics to, Wish I took some the few days I had it .

Realale 01-22-2014 11:37 AM

I have this on mine. Took a little cutting of the Nismo grill but does good.

ANMVQ 01-22-2014 01:05 PM

I only had to cut off my tow hitch thingy. :)

Realale 01-22-2014 01:06 PM

I just screwed it right to the crash bar

ANMVQ 01-22-2014 01:07 PM

I couldn't :/ . I wanted mine centered. Not sure how different the Z is from the G in the front tho. But mine had to go.

Realale 01-22-2014 02:11 PM

Must be different because I got mine perfectly centered and didn't have to cut the tow hook

Did you notice any difference in oil temps since the heat exchanger is now in front of everything?

Realale 01-23-2014 08:17 PM

Yes I only have a 25row and it gets up to 210. I need to upgrade or move it.

Hmm, I think the problem is getting airflow through the oil cooler, don't think a larger cooler will help. Maybe a fan to pull the air through the oil cooler? Did it go from 180 to 210 after the mod?

The question is what benefits more? Lower oil temps or lower charger air in manifold?

Realale 01-23-2014 09:08 PM

Well it always was high. It really just went up 10-20 degrees after the intercooler install. And this is on the Nismo so less of an opening I think. Still never close to limp mode even under hard driving.

Hello Guys

New intercooler in Progress.....

A little work on the cross brace
and on the water pipe Installation
The STILLEN Oil-Cooler goes 1 cm back (3 cm between Intercooler and Oil-Cooler)
The front of the Intercooler is ground flat (no welding seam)

The frontfacia has been milled and is ready for painting.
(Without Nissan characters) :excited:

awesome build bro

how are temps with the intercooler now?

vlad370z 02-23-2014 01:19 AM

Has the larger heat exchanger improved the performance of the supercharger?
Did you guys change the water pump .

The original pump is still mounted.
I am installing from our business a speed controller and a temperature sensor
where I can adjust the pump's performance during the tests and at the outlet of the head exchangers, the temperature can record so as to set the optimal speed of the pump.

@luigi90210
Once the front is mounted, I can on my home track (mountain road) the heat exchanger test.
For 2 years, I'm going there always the same route at the same ambient temperatures and have the temperatures recorded via OBDII

We'll see once everything is ready...

vlad370z 02-23-2014 05:21 AM

I Have enjoyed your thread great build and vids. My 370Z received it's stillen kit last week. Installation and custom tune by Croydon Racing Developments here in Sydney. Pick it up tomorrow. I went directly with the 9lb pullley.
I have been considering the larger heat exchanger for a while so I am looking forward to your results.

An excellent informative thread compliments to you !

Vlad

Fantastic thread and awesome videos/pictures.

Hey guys

Thank you for the nice answers!:tup:
I'll post the results as soon as I have ....

Malm 02-23-2014 09:40 AM

I have almost zero clue about all the technical terms going on here, but this was still a very entertaining read. Like the videos!

Hi Ivo
Picked up my z today great with the supercharger understand your enjoyment,
if I could ask you a question - after some spirited driving is your bonnet hot to touch maybe even fry an egg on ? As this is my first supercharger I am. not sure what is normal or what to expect.
We gave a rich tune to start off with on dyno dynamics with the 9lb pulley and obtained 301 rw kw. From what I understand dyno dynamics reads about 12% lower than dynojet .Commonly called the HEART BREAKER DYNO.

Hello new Supercharger Fan!
Due to the very limited space available and the additional Supercharger Parts
and the extra power, creates very high heat in the engine compartment!
My hood was always very warm even before the conversion.

But for fry eggs on the hood it is not enough ....

BTW: Have you installed an additional oil cooler?
This is very important!

Enjoy the extra POWER

vlad370z 02-24-2014 06:05 AM

Yes I have a z1 25 row oil cooler 850 injectors 340 aeromotive fuel pump. My oil temp is good. Just surprised at the heat generated.

vlad370z 03-01-2014 06:06 AM

Ivo do you have thermal sleeves on your heat exchanger hoses to reduce the water temp from radiant heat in the engine bay

TKomodo 03-02-2014 08:20 PM

My setup

2 Attachment(s)
I used a digital IR temp gauge to measure the temp of the intake after a short drive and it read 145*. A lot cooler that I thought. I ceramic coated the intercooler, pipes, supercharger, radiator and oil cooler. I also upgraded the top coolant lines.

swiss370Z 03-02-2014 08:57 PM

Hey TKomodo
These pictures I have not seen before on the "WWW"

Thank you for sharing with us!
Your setup looks great

BTW:
Have no problems with heat, which produces the oil cooler
and sits directly under the air filters?
In particular, at low speeds or in heavy traffic?
If the cool intake air can not flow properly through the cooler.

What bumper you have installed?
Still the original with the brilliant green wrap in your photo album? :yum:

TKomodo 03-03-2014 01:04 PM

It is still quite cool here. In a few weeks it temps will stay in the mid 20sC (mid 70'sF) It did get to 27F the other day and no issues.
Yes, the car is still wrapped in Military Matte Green and factory bumper!

Very cheap ;)

I have no more power registered!
But the feeling that I have the hoses isolated,
brings estimated 10% more power ... :icon18:
It costs about $ 10

Actually I would also isolate the charge air pipe!
But it's much too beautiful!

I'm hoping the meth injection and vents will keep mine cool.

I am waiting for the date for the UPRev optimization ...
My tuner is always fully booked!
In about 3-4 weeks, it should be ready :excited:

On 11 April, the work is done! :excited:
A long time... :stirthepot:
