I am getting very excited about this setup. Just need to start saving up the pennies now.

From the racelogic website;
"The system works by monitoring the speed of all four wheels using the ABS system or specially fitted sensors. When wheel spin is detected the engine power is reduced, by cutting a single injector pulse, until grip is resumed. This occurs in a thousandth of a second, and appears to the driver as a slight misfire with no loss in acceleration. Maximum acceleration is achieved by limiting the slip between the tyre and the road. The point at which a tyre is just beginning to slip against the road gives the maximum coefficient of friction value. The idea of cutting fuel to an engine sets alarm bells ringing in engine builders, as they all know that running a lean combustion mode will elevate in-cylinder temperatures very rapidly. The denser the air/fuel charge, the more heat the lean burn can generate. Therefore it is vital that a fuel cut system will not cause a lean burn. Racelogic Traction Control prevents lean burn by removing 100% of the pulsed fuel delivery – essentially the affected cylinder takes a gulp of fresh air; the in-cylinder temperature remains virtually unaffected. Prolonged fuel cut on one particular cylinder would cause scavenging of the petrol lining the inlet tracts, and when the next full fuel pulse arrived, it would be partially reduced in quantity by the re-wetting of these tracts. RL Traction Control rotates cylinder cutting to prevent this situation from occurring." |
Fascinating, thanks. Does this mean the stock traction control has to be disengaged every time you start the car?
|
I am under the impression that this will replace the stock system all together. I don't know if the stock traction control button will have any use afterwards. The RaceLogic system has its own digital controller.
|
Stock traction control will do nothing.
|
Thats interesting...would never get it, but it sounds pretty cool.

Is there any different parts compared to the stg1 besides compressor ?
|
How was the dyno session today?

I will have mine shortly. I then do a full report on it.
If this things launches my 7 AT @ 3800 to 4000 rpm at the drag strip. Look out . Its going to go low 12's, way better than my 12.42 that i run now (2100 to 2200rpm = 1.855, 60 ft times ) Z |
If I purchase the stage 2 kit now, could I run it at say only 8 psi until there is a upgrade kit for the auto trans?
|
Any update on this? Im curious on if it will be released this week :)

Finally my traction contol is ready . It is being shipped to me as i type this.
Just spoke to Sam. Launch control in the 1/4 mile set at 4200 rpm on my 7 AT. I see a new low 1/4 mile time coming up here to the great white north. Look out J naut , could be a new record soon for N/A. Z |
I all ready have a sperate credit card just for GTM "sam " money.
