Hey Gene,

Did you use jack stands at all? Looks like all your pics were with the car on the ground. Aside from the bulkhead holes for the intakes that you already had enlarged, did the kit require further modification to any parts (any drilling, cutting, etc) or just bolting/unbolting?

Yep after doing the fuel pump, the entire rest of the install was with the car in the air. I have these:

Sears: Online department store featuring appliances, tools, fitness equipment and more

There isn't much that you really have to or drill out... When you mount the relocated oil filter bracket you have to drill 3 holes in the framerail to mount that. One of the SC oil lines is mounted on the top part of the bumper aluminum bumper support, so 2 small holes for that.. And the 2 plastic "walls" that are on the inside of the fender wells get removed as the SC piping on one side and the SC oil and Engine oil coolers go in those spots.

Can't say there was anything you had to cut off or destroy. Most everything is just removing OEM pieces, and using new brackets and new bolts to mount things in different locations to make room for the new hardware going in.

Only problem is trying to find a place for it.. In the battery compartment is not a bad idea, even if you don't relocate it but maybe just get a smaller battery. Will have to look into that too.

BTW took it for a quick drive last night so far so good. No fluttering issues, no CEL, etc.. The rush of air you hear is pretty sick though. :)

Are you going to get it custom tuned or just use the base tune that GTM gave you?

How would you describe the power now compared to before?

I'll get pics of the water bottle. Right now its held in by zip ties until i can get a bracket made. Gene. You did a good job and a clean job. Kudos to you!

You data log and send the logs to Sam. He will tweak things and send you a new flash.

Nice, so that makes 3 of us so far who have done this install ourselves?

You will definitly want an extra hand. Basically to echo everything Fezzik has already stated.

I did some break in miles yesterday. was 40 degrees and raining like crazy.. So was forced to take it easy.. so far everything seems good though. Oh what I wouldn't give for 50+ degrees and dry pavement. :)

Oh, just wait until Sam tweaks your tune, and you're out of the break-in period! :happydance:

djpathfinder 02-28-2011 11:57 PM

How long is the break in period?

Liquid_G 03-01-2011 10:30 AM

65 miles is what the instructions say.

JollyGoodChap 03-02-2011 07:06 PM
