Nice work

I've got the funds all saved up for one of these bad boys and wanted to do the install myself also. I'm just trying to decide if I should act like an adult for once with my money or buy me a SC.

I thought the same thing. I was waiting on the stage Two to come out, but now I'm thinking I need to be an adult and get a new roof..

Wow thanks for all the props guys.. I did get the tune from Sam last night but ran into some snags with my HKS Camp2 thing i'm trying to install before I go out and drive it. I though for sure my Kenwood dnx6140 had a rear A/V input to connect the camp2 to. it does not.. :shakes head: Going to pick up a 7 inch monitor today and throw it in the cubbyhole. Oh look 6 inches of snow coming tonight... damnit.

I assume this is a Stage 1?

Yes I ordered the Stage 1 with their Supplement Oil cooler hit, (lets me re-use my 19row setrab oil cooler, just new thermostat and lines for it)

No it could probably be done by one person if you had to.. But my wife is as much of a car person as I am.. She just sold her awesome RX-8 and picked up an old 280Z as our next little project. Its cool because she understands that you "need" a supercharger... :)

Good Job. Looks great. What did you ever decide to do with windshield washer fluid?

haha hell if I know.. haven't found a place to put this yet.. I may try to fit it behind the oil cooler in the drivers side fender well. Or maybe inside the car somewhere.. still gotta think about that one.

BTW Guys, Fezzik is a local guy here and has this kit on his G37 vert, also a DIY. It was very helpful talking to him at meets about what he went thru on his install.. Thanks again Dave.

It is a project you can do yourself, but it is a GREAT help to have someone there. It's more the 2nd helper will help cut down time. and make installing less of a hassle to get up, go get something then get back down, jsut to get back up to do it. I had to do partial install of mine by myself.

No prob bud. Glad to be of help. Also on the water bottle. I was able to get mine to fit next to the air filters. I got some flexible pvc piping and a pvc female screw connector with an oring at ace hardware and created a hose up to the original location for the water fill.

Sweet work

Great work. For the wiper fluid reservoir....what about relocating the battery and then installing a custom reservoir in the battery compartment? Shouldn't be too hard to find a plastic container to mount in there.

Liquid_G 02-25-2011 11:40 AM

GTM will give you the optional water bottle if you ask for it. Smaller, maybe 1/2 gallon size?
Only problem is trying to find a place for it.. In the battery compartment is not a bad idea, even if you don't relocate it but maybe just get a smaller battery. Will have to look into that too.

BTW took it for a quick drive last night so far so good. No fluttering issues, no CEL, etc.. The rush of air you hear is pretty sick though. :)

spearfish25 02-25-2011 11:48 AM

Hey Gene,

Did you use jack stands at all? Looks like all your pics were with the car on the ground. Aside from the bulkhead holes for the intakes that you already had enlarged, did the kit require further modification to any parts (any drilling, cutting, etc) or just bolting/unbolting?
