Default Z1 installed GTM stage 2 turbo kit on 2009 370Z

First of all thanks to Blackbird for the opportunity to work on such a beautiful car. And thanks to Sam and the GTM staff for all their help.

So what happens to a 370Z when you have performed all the bolt ons that make power but the car just isn't fast enough?

Well if you're Blackbird you scratch the NA setup and start researching FI systems. Next you get the HP goal set. Then after thinking it over you setup an appointment and order a GTM turn key kit from GTM or one of their dealers(Z1 ). Last get the car delivered to Z1Motorsports to start in finish the project.

Parts installed (prior to delivery):
  • Unorthodox Racing Under Drive Pulley (Retained)
  • Stillen Cat-Back Exhaust (Retained)
  • Stillen Headers (Removed)
  • Stillen Gen III Intake (Removed)

Parts to be installed included:
  • GTM stage 2 turn key TT kit
  • Z1 370Z Sport Brake Upgrade Package
  • Hawk HP Ceramic pads
  • Z1 370Z oil cooler kit (34 Row with Thermostatic Sandwich Plate)
  • Stillen Front Fascia

Parts added after delivery:
  • Quaife LSD
  • HKS EVC
  • AEM Uego wideband
  • Berk High Flow Cats

Now let's get it on the lift

Time to take the heart out.

Check over parts list

Start the install and test fitment.

Back in

We had to get his new Stillen fascia repainted so it will be shipped. But here is the stocker.

Had to reset airbag light and check fluids for the trip to NH.

Now the numbers in STD and SAE. The car actually put down 540rwhp in SAE but the graph broke in a spot so no need to show it. Now it was not pulling timing. But it did have a small boost fluctuation

For a TT install, yes. It makes life so much easier and simpler to install things.

I disagree, TT kit is easier for me with the enngine in. It gives you a better idea of where ypu have room and clearance.

Back on topic, im sure this car looks amazing, but he pic aren't working for me.

In the car would be best if the kit were in a development stage but removing the engine makes everything you need to do with the installation of this kit soo much easier.

What do you think is hard to do with engine in?

Removing stock headers, being able to be up close to the engine and not reaching over gives better control when unbolting/re-bolting items, and easier to route tools without using extensions or angled items.

Im shooting for around March or April to bring my Nismo to Z1. I think I have desided to try and build a Stage 4 setup. Just depends on what all I deside to do to it as to when I bring it in.
