Z06 - even if you are lucky enough to go against a stock one will walk you.

wishihadnav 12-27-2010 04:33 PM

yeah i agree...if you plan on racing z06's you'd be better off with a TT setup...problem solved..haha

Kastley85891 12-27-2010 04:41 PM

^^ TT and decent traction control... or get a GTR, watch the Z06 sliding in your mirror lol

destinyZ 12-27-2010 04:48 PM

^^^agreed...you would win everyday with 10-11PSI but then you may want to get a 6puck (or just use the stock till it goes out) and may as well do the flywheel at the same time to knock it out...I believe ppl are getting 550 WHP with this setup(ish) and 400somthing TQ

Trade in or sell the Z get a Z06 and flash it with HFC (if they have them for the Z06) =p

personal opinion though here..

if people got the 370z because they wanted a super fast straight line car.. then they got the wrong car to begin with.

Now if this is just a curiosity on the side and not a big deal to the OP then hey thats cool.

that would be funny to watch. GTR on a course would destroy a Z06.

I agree with you 100% on that one. The Z was never meant to be a 1/4 car. I remember reading a magazine when they put the Z on a super diet and it was beating GT3's stock. Then they twin turbocharged it but it was still not enough against a modified GTR. It was a second off from the GTR's lap times.

I somewhat agree but what ppl fail to look at is the potential of a car and only see what it can do in stock form. The Z has AMAZING potential but ppl want a fast car now but that is no fun. Im not saying that daisuke dosent like the his car, just saying it has alot of potential.

If you want a fast drag car without putting your life into it then get the new 5.0, Z06, R8 (V8 or bigger) etc...

So they modified a stock TT car and only TT the Z?...was the z on the stock psi or did they get a boost controller? You said lap times so im guessing this was a course and not a drag strip.

The GTR is better then the Z even TT'd with the Z on the stock boost...the GTR should win all day against the Z on a course and a course will show more then just the cars HP. driver is more involved, suspension and braking play a bigger part, weight distribution along with the drivetrain, camber, etc....

little off subject :)

OP, honestly, that's the wrong way of looking at things no matter what car you have... No matter what you do yo it, there will always be someone faster.

Darn, I do not think I bought the magazine but I will have to look. I believe it was Modified Mag and there was a white 370Z and a white GTR on the cover. Yes, it was on a road course. They were trying to see if the Z can compare to super car status of the GTR. From what I can remember, the Z was around 500whp and weighed in at 2700lbs. The GTR had around 600+whp.

To me, I am not really into drag racing. Everyone can drive a straight line...it's all about how much money you put into it. After having autocrossed for the first time, I found out I suck at driving...lol. I need lots of practice. I have not gone road racing since I do not have an oil cooler installed yet.

I read on import tuner, the greedy 370z TT, beat 2 or 3 GT-Rs on the track, but it could be pro driver vs amuture driver.
