GTM supercharger install on G37 Vert

Hey guys. I know this is the 370z forum and I know a lot of us G37 peeps lurk here. I thought since there is a "nice" forum on the two superchargers here i'd post up here as well.

The supercharger came in today. Well most of it. I got the parts powder coated and one part is getting drop shipped to me friday. I'm doing the fuel pump Thursday.

I am probably going to do a write up / review and have it posted on NICOclub.com CHeck back for updates.

I just received the final of 3 boxes of goodies for my TT kit last night. I know how you feel.... Like a kid on Christmas.

Have a great build!

Okay.

shumby 10-14-2010 08:02 AM

you should do an oil and tranny cooler at the same time. you will not regreat it.

Fezzik 10-14-2010 09:34 AM

The Setrab on the top pic is the oil cooler. No tranny cooler cause I am a manual.

shumby 10-14-2010 09:36 AM

hey bud, congrat's on your new kit.

I see you're a fish guy too eh?

Fezzik 10-14-2010 02:46 PM

Yeah. I have a 120 gallon, two 30 gallons nanos with HQI. I did have a 55 and 10 gallon breeder but kids have taken my time now and I can barely keep up with the tanks. Luckly for the 120 I have a Apex controller to help me monitor everything.

i have a 90G thinking about upgrading to a 150G. my tank crashed last year and i just restarted and hopefully the outcome will be the same as before although i'm battling turf algae right now a coral is still surviving lol.

gezzzzz, we have the exact same hobbies! too bad it's so damn expensive.

Haha, I was going to say the same thing. I've got 2 120g tanks and am in the process of building a 4x4x2ft 240g cube to cut down on the amount of maintenance of having two tanks. Good to see other reefers on here! The neptune Apex controller is awesome...nothing like being able to monitor your tank when your out of town

LOL He was waiting on another part that was supposed to be delivered today. Hopefully I'll swing by sometime tonight. I'll snap a few cell pics if I do. :)

Fezzik 10-19-2010 02:13 PM

Hey guys. Quick update. Took A lot longer than I anticipated. I was thinking 20 hours. It took about 30-35 hours. Its all together. Just waiting for 1 little part for the oil cooler I bought along with the supercharger to get here today. Then fluids go in and check for leaks. I cant drive it yet cause uprev is still working on my ecu. They have not had a vert g37 rom and its still not back. Taking longer than normal.

DarkZide 10-19-2010 03:12 PM

The fact that the roof is chopped off changes the ECU factory tune?

Every model they will chance something minor in the tune, more so just the ID number.
So tune ABC123 on a G37 and then ABC124 for a G37 vert, annoying for tuners, but just a quick change normally to update the software.

in terms of maps i'm pretty sure they're the same values and data. Just the ROM that is different. Any pics for us?

First of all, congratulations on a successful build! Second of all, please take more video. :)

Jeffblue 10-20-2010 01:40 PM

did you do this build yourself?

Fezzik 10-20-2010 02:11 PM

I bought the kit from GTM and did the whole install with just me and a car friend from Louisville. We both have done engine installs but never done F/I install.

Any tips on how to fill it up with oil. lol

fstrnldr 10-20-2010 06:15 PM

Looks good .....I like the shumby bracket for the oil cooler

Fezzik 10-20-2010 06:34 PM

Lots of cardboard pieces of $&@! do really well along with oil. Guaranteed 50 extra hp Shumby

Q8y_drifter 10-20-2010 06:38 PM

Got any more pics of the oil block adapter thing behind the oil cooler? How does it route with the oil filter relocation kit?

Note the diagram: red is hot oil, blue is cool oil. ;)

Q8y_drifter 10-21-2010 02:18 PM

Thanks Mike! this should help when i get my kit :)

Fezzik 10-21-2010 03:14 PM

honestly. you can not screw up the oil lines. They can go pretty much any which way. The one you do nto want to screw up is the hot line going back to the engine. other than that, you can run it however you want so long as you dont route the oil cooler to itself. (hah)
