what kinda turbo? |

.82 a/r, anti surge holes, v-band exhaust, 4" inlet,2.5 "outlet,polished compressor housing The pic is of a general gt35r w/ comperssor surge holes http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/d...3582rturbo.jpg |
Good job. The piping on the turbo setup should be interesting since its a dual compared the 350z throttle body.

^ You'll like how he got around this ;)

so if intake filters have to go under car then IMO this is not a good solution for DD cars. Can the filter be put in the engine bay still?

Yeah, it doesn't really work like that. In layman's terms picture trying to suck out of a straw. The longer it is the harder it is to get air through it. Complicate things even further by adding turns and bends and you'll be choking off the compressor.
|
just use a good filter box and the filter won't get drenched like an open cone would and put a good sized stainless shield/diffuser under the turbo to keep it from getting wet rain problem solved.

So some pieces came in, but heat exchanger yet maybe wednesday. Here is a few pics, nothing mocked up yet, but soon prolly like next weekend. the seal on the ram for the lift went out, waiting for it to get backed from the hydraulic shop.

for a scavenge pump RB racing makes a great bronze gear pump designed for oil system use. The pumps are so over built you could use them as a seperate supply pump at 3 GPM at 30psi. the also have the supply line restrictors, backflow valves, and hell in line turbo oil filters if you wnat to run those too. remember a ball bearing turbo likes 30psi of oil pressure journal bearings a bit more. Don't skimp on the oiling like sts did or you'll be doing what i am right now, trying to improve it so the seals don't bypass oil at low throttle. Rear mounts are hard on ring seals, if your turbo has carbon seals you won't have as much of a problem.

still ordering in parts, i just received my waste gate and heat exchanger. next to be ordered is my injectors and air/water intercooler.
|
^^^^I give you props for doing this on your own.

Where are you plannin on mounting the Intercooler?
I am assuming that you are planning on retaining the Y-pipe factory exhaust to feed the single turbo. Have you started mocking up pipe routing up front yet since it will be a single feed from the compressor that will need to split to feed both Throttle bodies? |
