Mike, what settings do you have your HKS suspension tuned to?

bullitt5897 05-06-2011 10:33 AM

I hate the hks!!! It's spring rates are not mated well with their rebound and compression mappings... In otherwards it bouncy unless you make it real stiff! Also you will need sway bars to help make them calm down. I will never listen to forged performance again when it comes to suspension!!! I have been a die hard KW v3 user for years and sadly they talked me out of them... Honestly I would stay away and I don't take advice from forged anymore because they try to sell me on what they make the most profit on! Stick with KWV3's light years better than hks plus they have independent rebound and compression which allows you to actually tune your suspension!!!!

JB-370z 05-06-2011 11:00 AM

Will adjusting the 2nd spring help?

bullitt5897 05-06-2011 11:51 AM

Adjusting the helper spring will not affect the compression rebound mappins which are the issue. The compression is too soft and the rebound is too high in the mapping. Therefore the shock bottoms too easily and then rockets upward and the residual down force starts the process all over again giving you the bouncy feeling. Hks obviously developed this suspension with beefier than stock sway bars.

Honestly, Their are only two shops I will trust in ATL with this car (Z1 and Top Speed) Both are about the same distance from me. You guys dont need to worry about the posts its the facts out there. I had to help the tech install my coilovers cool guy just needed an extra hand. Sharif tried to sell me the Greddy kit over the GTM kit and I was like WTF are you smoking!!! Glad I went GTM and will continue to be a GTM customer into the future!

We should have some exciting news soon. We are trying to wrap things up ASAP!!!

Saw the car when I was there looking at my car Mike. Your looks awesome.

As I have mentioned many times, I WILL continue to delete "off topic" posts or posts that looks like posted just to stir the pot etc. If you have question for Mike or Sam, feel free to ask in a polite gesture (following the forum rules). What Mike does with his car or how many years it takes build or how much money spent on the car etc - are totally Mike and Sam's business. We don't have 1 cent invested in this project, hence we have no right to say anything other than to wait and see how this unfolds.

Thank you.

Mike, if you would like to post update every x days, it'll help member keep a track of whats going on. Maybe a pic or two here and there.

You're welcome. Anytime the thread gets off topic, you guys need to use the report post function. That's why it's there.

Just an FYI we have a new revised version of the lower intake manifold in this week. The reason it has been quiet is that we are working to finalize any and all issues that have risen in the past few weeks. Again, this is product development and takes time... i.e. you want a perfect product? we are working to make sure you get it. We hope to be posting results this week but again I will remind you that we will not be posting results until the car is completely finished.

thanks,
Mike
