Yea we have alot of work to get done in a VERY short period of time! We have a few other manufacturers stopping by next week to check out the progress of the build and what else they can bring to the build... So the pressure is there and once we get done yeah you guys are gonna be asking questions like a mofo!!!! Lol

Just stay patient guys

Hmmm, if you're going to start adding parts from the VR38 wouldn't it make more sense and cost less to do just a full VR38 build and swap? I don't see how the VR38 plenum would fit and still keep the strut brace on, you might even need a new hood.

Im sure we will see this in the far future from someone. That would be awsome though no joke. But Super expensive

bullitt5897 08-03-2010 12:46 PM

yeah no kidding expensive!

on a side note: AutoPage will be hooking us up with their RS-1100 Alarm system with built in Turbo timer!!! some really neat stuff! I still have to confirm but I believe my Zele Kit has arrived at Bulletproof Automotive (370zTune) :excited:

1slow370 08-04-2010 04:18 AM

you wouldn't want to swap the lowers as the heads on the vr have a different style of intake runner and it connects different. the bottom of a gtr LIM is flat and ours is a v shape your only chance would be swapping just the uppers. on our engine the fuel inectors are in the LIM on a gtr they are in the head

Thanks for the heads up. Thank goodness I don't need that part. How about the intake runners meeting up at opposite ends?

GTM has an adapter plate which is allowing us to mount and fix that problem.

Ah, thanks. I wondered what the adapter would be like... I'll take one please! Intake collector straight from a blown VR38 in the UK is on the way. :happydance:

bullitt5897 08-04-2010 08:55 AM

Nice dude!!! But wait hey... Why can't you guys give me a moments glory of being the only gtr intake for a while!!!! You F*cking bastards!!! Lol j/k  good luck guys!

Haha you'll have your moment of glory since I'm far from being ready to force feed my Z - a little over 1 year away. So with your car being finished I'm going to spend the entire year watching your vids over and over until the time comes. :excited:

So any updates, pictures, etc.? Blue balls...

Just a little baby sneak peak of some sort :(

bullitt5897 08-04-2010 02:40 PM

def some blue balls here.... LMAO. Sam really does have his hands full at the moment. We have some manufacture reps coming over early next week to view the progress and see how far along we are and to see how involved they would like to get. LOL and I am trying soooo hard to not call Sam everyday lol sometimes when I call he already has an asnwer ready for me even if I am not calling about a status update hahaha. Its tough man I got to let the boys work their magic cause the car has to be done like ASAP so it can go into the bodyshop and get its full audio install done for the magazine cover shoot... Man what I wouldnt give for a week or two off of work to go help with the install!!!! seriously I am a totally hands on person and this is taking a lot for me to just hand over to someone else to do.

I know they are working late hours but man I probably wouldnt sleep until I got to a huge mile marker. Lol when I did the BBK install I did sway bars install too and I adjusted the suspension all in the same night! I pulled some help from some of my local buddies and man we worked till about 7am the next morning lol and we started at 3pm the day before...

PROPS to Sam and team I cant wait for another update!

Actually I thought I was going to be the first with the GTR manifold but I guess that is not the case. While my car is not waiting on a photo shoot I do have quite a big build going on at GTM. I hope that you have better luck with your build then I am having with mine.

Ok next question, is that available to the public, say me for instance.;)

bullitt5897 08-04-2010 10:41 PM

Yea if you wanna buy one from the dealer go ahead but just an FYI it doesn't fit our intake manifold.

Give us more.

bullitt5897 08-07-2010 04:00 PM

Sam you are the man!!! I am looking forward to the rest of the updates this weekend :D

RCZ 08-10-2010 03:13 PM

You guys have a good photographer..

bullitt5897 08-10-2010 03:21 PM

the lighting composition is really good with what looks to be a riffa kit and a really nice white box!

SAM@GTM 08-12-2010 07:26 PM

Here Some pics of the turbo mounted to the engine

Sam

WarmAndSCSI 08-12-2010 07:35 PM

Very nice... looks like a Garrett GT-series turbine wheel. How are all 6 EGT signals going to be monitored and interpreted? That's a lot of data for a metric that isn't exactly intuitive to interpret.

Kastley85891 08-12-2010 07:46 PM

Nice , finally some one taking EGT data.

Looks to be a tight ole fit there - and we all like a tight fit

bullitt5897 08-12-2010 08:22 PM

Holy Sh*t SAM you weren't kidding!!! Those turbos are freaking HUGE!!!! To putitin perspective guys those exhaust outlets on the turbos are like 3" in diameter!!!

W.O.W. 370Z 08-12-2010 10:51 PM

I wonder why that VQ35 is written on there. Random!

We did start with a VQ35HR bare block to make the 4.5L stroker short block, Both VQ35HR and VQ37VHR blocks are the same .

Sam

Makes sense, probably not many VQ37VHR cores lying around yet. Kind of the same situation in the 4B11 world right now.

What shop is doing your install?

bullitt5897 08-21-2010 10:20 AM

Bulletproof auto's bodyshop that does all their cars

JB-370z 08-21-2010 10:51 AM

So do you have custom 3" exhaust that is going to be taylored to fit the zele rear?

SAM@GTM 08-22-2010 12:25 PM

The project is almost done, car is going to the body shop on Monday, should get back in a week or so to button up the fuel system and the GTR manifold.

Also we did have a little change of plan on the injectors, instead of doing two stage injection primary and secondary, we will try some 2150 CC injectors instead .

some more pics

Stay tuned

Sam

WarmAndSCSI 08-22-2010 01:55 PM

Wow 6 2150's is 12900 cc/min worth of fueling! That's crazy even for Q16... are you guys going to be running E85? I figured 1500 cc/min injectors would be more than enough. Hell I've made almost 500 WHP uncorrected on 440 cc/min injectors on a V6. lol

I'm just curious, because that smells of even larger plans or that you're going to be fueling this beast with E85, which would be pretty neat if Bullitt has it readily available in GA.
