Motor is looking amazing, car is looking amazing too! What a monster.
I'm a little confused about the injectors too. How come you guys are using such insane injectors? Also, why oh why did you stretch the tires so much? Why make them stick out so much? Either way, those are minor details. Looks great with the Zele kit on white. That TT kit never ceases to impress me, looks top notch. |
looking to stroke out to 4.5L and TT my car, how long does a build like this take if I sent the car to GTM perf?

What's the size and spec of the tires that are on now and of the ones that will be going on.:tiphat: |
Dang pictures definitely do NOT do this car justice!!! The wheels are looking pretty amazing from the video. The color sure pops a lot more in the video than in the pictures.

God that looks so sick on the video... I'm stoked to see what a massive bar-and-plate looks like behind that smiley front bumper lol.

Since post 1 was on 6/19/2010 and we are at 9/2/2010 and the car is getting body work done I would say it will take much less than 20 months as you previous posted. |

in the FI section? or 370z section?

all over the place.. I'm pretty sure there were some people in this guy's thread on this car complaining. My point is, this timeline is no where close to accurate for a typical build of this magnitude. You usually see these dragging out for well over a year.

again, I'm not talking about this build. It obviously is high priority. I think some of the post may have been moved or deleted. There are people who have cars that have just been sitting for months on end. And its not just GTM. I have no problem with them. I just think people get unreallistic expectations of how long big builds will take. Most reputable shops have HUGE backlogs of work and when you talk about a built, stroked, twin turbo setup you're going to be looking at a year of downtime IMO.
Look at this build XKR Super G... Going for Mach 1 - MY350Z.COM Forums Very similar to the one here. It was a high priority publicized build for another top notch shop and if I'm not mistaken the traction control still isn't done. These things take time. Ask some people who have done big builds at different shops (SP, Intense, Forged, GTM) |
I saw what he was saying in the FI 50 thread. We dont even know what his car is going to make and he is talking about dethroning the "top whp" Z. Kinda presumptuous if you ask me.
Builds like this take time. I hope the rush is worth it. Only time will tell. |
I agree, many things have been pushed, but I think if someone is honestly wanting to do this after bullitt is done it will help reduce the timeline a good bit.
The other thing is also how much prep is done before the car is not used. Some start ordering parts and working right away, while others stock pile parts until everything can be built at once. |

This is a forum where people can voice their opinions. Again, I see you attacking people who are giving their opinions on your build. They are being civil . Telling people to "shut the **** up" is real professional man. Cut the act. Man up, take people's opinion as what it is...their opinion.:tiphat: |
Back to your car...Are you pulling your fenders? Looks like your going to rub if you lower her. Are you going with an upper rear spoiler? The lower width of the car needs some offset in the rear up top. I'm sure you've figured all this out already, just curious!
|
You should intall one of those systems where you can adjust the front end height by up to 2 inches in order for you to clear speed bumps and steep driveways. I saw this option on a Bragus SLS AMG and it sounds awesome for people with aggressive body kits and hella flush rides. :tiphat:

[QUOTE=bullitt5897;705516]Ok daniel, get this straight my car has been with Sam and several other shops over the past year. My car has 15k miles on it from about 8 months of driving on it. Now I make it clear to those who do work on my cars... You have a dealine that has to be met! I told sam that deadline and he is on schedule my car is also bouncing around from 3 different shops. This is a very realistic build time and what most people don't understand is that if you want your stuff done on time you have to be involved in the build. There are only a few cars that I know of that are at GTM for long periods of time and you know why that is???? Because some other *used to be GTM installer f@cked up the cars and sam has to go back through them and then wait out the legal battles so he can finish his work! I know several guys who have already sent there cars to GTM and had them back in 2 months or less.
Thank you and enjoy history [/QUOTE My car was at GTM long before yours was and has only been worked on by GTM. Same build as yours, built, stroked, tt, fuel system w/ twin pumps, ect...It has been there since November. Maybe I should have set a dead line that had to be met then I would have my car back. There are always issues with any major build so you should consider yourself lucky to have the build going as smooth as it is. |
Wow and other my350z guys... I mean no disrespect. I am tired of the b.s. That comes from that forum... Yes my posts are cocky because I believe we will make the numbers to do the job. Getting my build done this quickly is because all te parts were in place before te build was to start. My car is not on any fast track!!! I ordered my parts last yearand didn't start the build till April this year. Sam had a built motor already completed for me and if that wasn't the case I woul be like any other build yr+ time frame for the build. So get off my back about the time frame shiv. Honestly you don't see me coming into everyone else's build threads and bitching about my build...
To everyone asking about the rear wing... APR is making us a custom GTC-500 for the car. I am hoping to have a few stand height choices that I can switch around. |

I'm crossing my fingers GTM can get the VR38 plenum to fit. Chris@FsP did a quick test and found that the TB location interferes with the oil cap. On the VR38 engine, it appears the oil cap location is extended from the valve cover.
So... VR38 valve cover or fab an oil filler tube? |
Strasse wheels? going to audio? magazine cover? Are you building a show car or a purpose built texas mile race car?
