So what's going to be the compression on this motor? I assume you want to take it down a notch?

Id like to know the comp to and intended DD fuel?

bullitt5897 06-22-2010 09:09 AM

The Compression will likely either be in the 9~10:1 range. Thank you to RCZ for keeping on topic and not further derailing the thread.

THANK YOU to AK dude I will be sporting those the370z stickers for a long time to come!!!

To NYBladeZ I am not sure what the final numbers would be with an all NA motor build would be like. That would be a great question for Sam. However, you have to remember this is a sleeved block so it is highly recommended that you upgrade the radiator.

Kastley, we will be running 1000cc injectors daily. My fuel mileage as long as I am getting better than 8-12mpg I will be happy! my old bullitt avg that daily driving.

FuszNissan 06-22-2010 09:11 AM

This thread is such a tease...hurry it up already, it's been like two days.

bullitt5897 06-22-2010 09:17 AM

Also, Breaking News this morning!!!! ZELE JAPAN just Partnered with us on this build!!! So expect to see this on my car in about 7~9 weeks:

Bullitt - nice on the 1000cc interested to see how the FCON handles things.

ON the fuel are you going to run pump as a daily squirt? any plans to tune with a higher octane blend?

Body kit is the dogs XX

bullitt5897 06-22-2010 09:52 AM

Yes I will be running 93oct daily. On occasion I will be running race fuel as Road atlanta is only 30 min from me and everytime I go there I make sure to fill up on 120 octane race gas. (when I had my s2000 and now with the 370z). I might even make some pert gas from a pump/race gas mixture.

One of the HKS FCON best capability's is the is option to run any injector size you desire it does have very sold injector drivers so you run low or high impedance and up to a 1600 cc without a glitch. In mike's set up, we will have to run a secondary set of injectors since the 1000 cc injectors won't be enough, The primary injectors will be utilized 80 % of the time then will have the secondary set come in in the higher boost level .

We will go in more details once we are discussing the fuel system in upcoming updates...

Sam

FuszNissan 06-22-2010 11:12 AM

Are you going to have to run 2 fuel pumps?

Kastley85891 06-22-2010 11:17 AM

Sam - sounds just the sort of set up I like to hear about, double injector..... nice... what boost levels are you going to target?

I have no direct experience with HKS management but know it is a nice bit of kit, the injector settings will be interesting running that size of injector, I am in to see how you guys dial them for startup, general running, I am also keen to see how the transition from CL to OL goes with double injector etc.

Nice work, continues to impress.

My situation is quite ironic, my side income is tuning turbo charged cars, the monies gained are being put to one side to TT my Z.. funny.

LateralG'z 06-22-2010 11:17 AM

Do you plan on running the Texas Mile when your done. Be real interesting to break 200+. I am curious what Z drag coeff is. i bet you could run 220 with the right gears

Yes we will have to, no other choice .

Sam

FuszNissan 06-22-2010 11:21 AM

I figured, also will you be running 2 fuel lines and a return line, since these cars a return less tanks. Man this is going to be a big build!

G37Sam 06-22-2010 11:24 AM

I cant wait to see what the engine bay is going to look like!!

DannyGT 06-22-2010 11:24 AM

Damn you buillett, I was just working on getting one of my contacts to get in touch with Zele to accuire that kit!

Cant wait to see the rest of this build...

Setting up in the injectors wont be that bad, working on the transition between both sets will require some work, All drive-ability including start up and idle will be oem since we have done this before. It does take a lot work but it is due able. First VQHR VVEL power FCON took about 40 hours to dial in. As for boost, 24-28 psi will bring the 1000hp home, base boost pressures (min boost due to spring in the waste gate is one bar 14.7 psi :D).

We are installing our GTM stage 5 system which is a full return system .

Nice to have 1bar on the gate, that will make for a great low boost map.

24-28, That is some serious boost on pump, god dam thoose turbos have more in them on decent fuel, the mind boggles......

This thing will be stupid quick

That's why a good traction control is a must have with this set up .

Imagine this:

http://www.japanesesportcars.com/pho...-fr-bumper.jpg

With a sexy a55 intercooler behind it!!

What sort of oil coolers will you be running with this setup Sam?

bullitt5897 06-22-2010 12:32 PM

I dont think I will ever take the TC off!!! 88mph here I come!

bullitt5897 06-22-2010 12:36 PM

Also the car will be at texas mile next year. I want to get a full cage built in the car before we attempt the texas mile! 220+ should be doable

RCZ 06-22-2010 12:40 PM

220+? Now THAT I want to see.

bullitt5897 06-22-2010 12:48 PM

with as much torque we will be putting down it should be doable... We should be able to do it if a box GTI can make 205mph and a GTR 220mph I think the Z can match the GTR and probably best it.

What is the Z drag 220 is not that easy. Should be doable but you have do more help manage the air better especially through the hood.

bullitt5897 06-22-2010 12:56 PM

the 370Z drag coefficient is .29

bullitt5897 06-22-2010 12:57 PM

the GTR's is .27

That's without the Zele Kit :stirthepot:

bullitt5897 06-22-2010 01:16 PM

I highly doubt the Zele kit will make the coefficient worse. In all actuality I think it may improve the actual coefficient. lol

Togo 06-22-2010 01:35 PM

What kind of red line are you guys aim for? Are you guys staying stock or bumping it up a bit?

370zdub 06-22-2010 01:37 PM

impressive, subscribed.

I am interested in how GTM will manage the change between injectors and not cause a lean spot.. I know making that transition can be very difficult.

LateralG'z 06-22-2010 01:45 PM

It should definitely be doable with drag coeff.l

bullitt5897 06-22-2010 01:57 PM

yeah figuring its better than the Veyron by .01 hehehe

And if even a 'Cuda can hit 208, you shouldn't be too far of...

Back in the days, tuning an RX8 1.3 L RENESIS via the FCON VPRO made a man out of me, the RX8 engine had 6 injectors grouped in pairs that were coming on in three different stages in three different individual fuel maps, now that was challenging.

This set up is not as difficult but we do have to deal with the engine's dynamic valve timing which makes the process very time consuming and not so easy .

Sam

370zdub 06-22-2010 06:02 PM

^Yeah, that sounds like hell. I'm sure you will be able to handle this motor and its VVEL system just fine. I would like to know if you do experience a lean spot when you do have injector switch tho.

Wonder how many hours of tuning before the final tune is approved. 1000hp sure is going to put some wear and tear on your dyno!:driving:

SPOHN 06-22-2010 08:19 PM

I hope for many sakes you get alot of extra insurance policy added. Pretty sure you know that though. Congrats on the start of your build.
