If a 1000hp 370 does not deserve a rep point what does.
Eidited to respect the forum. |
RCZ: So I understand to you they are not pioneers and thats fine.
To me they are. With the first twin turbo kit for the 370 in usa. The first company to offer both supercharger and twin turbo kits and now the first 1000hp 370z. If that is not being a pioneer I dont know what is. If it were not for companies like GTM and AAM, people that want to forced induction would be forced to only drive around stillen supercharged cars. The guy that always seems to have a problem with GTM just happens to own everything that stillen makes for the 370. Now that you are stealing the spot light from GTM once again maybe we can get back on topic. Edited for the respect of the forum. |
Guys, guys. I'll settle this, just give me the rep points.
Back on topic, nice to hear a partnership with Zele, should look sick. Any plans for full cage or some other fabrication to strengthen the car to handle 1000hp? |

Looks great guys. Any plans to upgrade the radiator?

Pioneers or not, it will be a pretty impressive feat to pull 1000whp out of a VHR. It's not like this is a bulletproof Ford 5.4L where 1000whp isn't too hard to achieve.
But best platform? Yeah, right. The 370Z is good but there are plenty of other platforms out there that can do the same or better. :) |
Well, it's been done already, so we know it's capable.
|
^ On the VQ37?
|
No VHR motor to my knowledge has been to 1000rwhp...
Spearfish: when I told my family what I was doing that was the exact response i got!!! They still make jokes about it. Mustang: my point was about pride in our brand and no this isnt the cheapest car to get to this goal but all around when considering the handling capabilities its much better than any mustang, camaro or whatever model car in our price bracket to do this. |

Its all good Lou! I know an HR has made it but the real task at hand is to see how the VVEL holds up in these instances and how well it can be tuned to help make MOAR power :D
|
Bullit you think you would be able to throw a wheelie with 1000whp and drag radials? :D
|
^^ That would be sweet!
|
^ think so , maybe some chassis twist off the line ;-0
|
hahahahaha!!!! Maybe I should just do a backflip and then beat the other guy down the track ;)
|
I would just race him in reverse.
|
hahahaha that is just sooo WRONG! XKR on my350 uses that excuse every time someone challenges his 1000hp G35 to a race LMAO!
|
Are you going to be able to retain the stock strut bar with the GTR manifold???
|
We will see... That is a great question for Sam! I want a custom one anyway so we will see ;)
|
took me a bit to realize this was your car bullitt  :tiphat:

Sorry I just checked back here. I didn't mean to offend anyone and I have no idea what was said and then deleted. There is certainly a degree of cutting edge application to this build; there is no denying that. Its just the dramatic, almost heroic fashion in which you talk about it, JB, that makes me wonder if you're getting DP'd by Sam and Bullitt while writing this stuff.
Either way, wayy off topic and I apologize Bullitt. We have talked before and I have respect for your originality and attention to detail. Let me say it again that its really exciting to watch this build and I, like probably everyone else in the community, am looking forward to seeing this one unravel. You are certainly on the cutting edge with this build and without a doubt you are going to run into problems that will need solutions. Those solutions will undoubtedly help others in the future so I can definitely appreciate how this build is helping the community and adding value to this forum. Keep up the good work and try not to blow stuff up. |

Thanks RCZ!
What do you mean by DP'd? I have as much ties to JB as I do to you... As far as Sam and JB... well JB is just another customer. No offense JB I am just trying to illustrate to RCZ that there is no behind the scenes agenda on our threads. We are just passionate RCZ just as you are for Stillen products. Back on topic: we expect some difficulties to come with this large of a build and Sam and I have discussed them privately. I am hoping for the best outcome for this project. Like you put it we will try not to blow anything up... I just... must... resist using........ Unicorn Blood.... INJECTION.... |

I did NOT look at how UB defines this term, but I assume they got it right. (Pun intended) |

I have talked with Sam and from our conversations if Sam decides to get a booth at SEMA my car will be there. I will also make the trip out there too :)

Just reading this thread and some of the comments in it leaves me feeling that, as a forum and community, we take one step forward and two steps back. In truth, these types of threads should never boil down to "shop wars", but seemingly they always do. This build and what GTM is doing is pioneering at its best. For those who disagree, well, I guess you have never been a member of another community and watched the 'typical' progress that occurs over the years. Getting into the 1000whp range is usually a 3-6 year process, if that short.
Mike, good luck with this build. You are in good hands. Of course I will be following this closely. |
I had a big response written, but I'm gonna pass out of respect for Bullitt and GTM's build thread. Lets keep this thread on topic folks.
|
Bullit, any idea how much power you would get if you did the 4.5L build but kept it N/A with 12.5:1 compression?

First, Mike, Congratulations on this big project! I knew you were going big but I never realized you are going THIS big! Hope everything works out for you and special rep for you if you decide to keep the THE370Z decal even after the install .

Thanks. |
Eh, I'm not sure who was turning this into a shop war because "the other company" has not even been mentioned and I have no affiliation with them, but alas I agree that we all have to stop bringing these threads down.
So what's going to be the compression on this motor? I assume you want to take it down a notch? |
