dlmartin81 05-03-2010 10:10 AM

Wow.....sick build!! I agree with DannyGT, I won't touch another thing on it, as far as exterior looks and power.

NewlyIMPORTed 05-03-2010 10:14 AM

I disagree with you a lot and that's part of life, but at the same time I do appreciate that you have done an awesome job with the car and there's no good reason why I shouldn't compliment you on that...

bullitt5897 05-03-2010 01:41 PM

Dammmit Jeremy! You wait till I leave the country to spew the good news!!! When I get Home this weekend we need to meet up! Hahaha I want to see what Sam is doing to my little beast right now :D. Ohhh and sam if you could do red couplers on my kit that would be great! Ukraine is fun but man do the roads suck!!! I have yet to see one 370z! I see lamborghini and other exotics but no z's shoot they even have rust stangs here! Anyway, car looks great bro! I call first ride ;) and we need to do a photoshoot of atlanta's most powerful z's when my car comes back!

Gunzero 05-03-2010 03:48 PM

fml.

LiquidZ 05-03-2010 07:08 PM

Stormcrow, that is an incredible car!

Good job man!

jmlenz 05-03-2010 07:43 PM

wow amazing ride Storm!!!

CinZinnati 05-03-2010 08:14 PM

I love the gt-r wheel color...perfect imo. Did u get it at a nissan dealership? And is it indeed just a sprayed on finish? Pic #2 is sick man, very aggressive...Is this lowered or just the nismo setup/body kit? The wheels look so much wider too??
hehe you have a killer tt setup and I'm stuck on your wheels:rofl2:

:iagree::iagree::iagree:Definitely my favorite Z on this forum now by far. So Sexy but Masculine. For some reason the stealthy FMIC makes me :happydance: I just LOVE it LOVE it LOVE it!!

stormcrow 05-03-2010 09:57 PM

Thanks for all of the wonderful compliments and comments, guys! I am glad there is so much appreciation for the mods and choices I have made. Seems we all have similar tastes. :)

CinZinnati - I had a local paint shop spray the wheels. They mixed the color via the color code for Nissan K11. It is indeed a sprayed on finish. So far, it has held up with zero issues. The car is lowered on Tein Monoflex coilovers. The wheels look wider because I put larger tires than OEM and spaced the wheels a bit. The fronts are 265/35 with 15mm spacers and the rear are 305/30 with 13mm spacers.

SAM@GTM 05-03-2010 11:02 PM

The Nismo ecu rom file is Different, It is a totally different tune all together, load axes are different and there is not as many timing table as the non Nismo Ecu.
So far this ecu is not responding the same way as other have. Also the knock threshold is lower on this ecu sense they are running a lot more aggressive timming then the other roms in the factory timing tables .

The car is making very good power @ 7psi, Told Jeremy with 12 psi i Can get him 600 RWHP but he said NO So i stopped @ 518 RWHP :D

The car is monster on the road, we have a cool video coming up here shortly .stay tuned

Here is a before and after Graph

Sam

Kastley85891 05-03-2010 11:30 PM

Impressive numbers - only 518 at the wheels ;-) sick.
Difference must be amazing
Good for OP to have the will power to stick to his own targets.

Thx for info on rom, must be an UPREV viewable.
Why is the after pull started so late?
You said this ECU responds differently, is the knock threashold effecting the low rpm high load , 100% TPS area?
Is that noise above 6200 or is it pulling timing up top?
What the boost curve looking like?
Any TRQ numbers for the 12 psi run?
CA 91? be nice here on Vpower 93, bit more headroom for sure

Just interested in the Z's turbo runnings, as a potential customer I like to get a lot of info, my sig says it all.... my stash for mod is building but not quite there yet.
PM if you like to keep out of this thread.

rockhounds 05-03-2010 11:36 PM

Good to know you're in Miami. So did you take your car to GA to get it tuned? Is there any shop specialized in the Z's down in South Florida?

BennytheBlade 05-03-2010 11:39 PM

How long did they have your car.

FuszNissan 05-04-2010 02:35 AM

These cars make great power at 6.5 - 7 psi, 12 psi would be insane!

Kastley85891 05-04-2010 03:17 AM

Lou - Imagine a built block and some real boost - holy crap they would be like the high power supras for grip ;-0

much appreciated man. To me, the wheels are super important in getting an aggressive look (if that's what one is going for) and you nailed it! There's the body kits and all that, but I think it centers around the right set of rims/tires.

I know the nismo has slightly larger wheels, do you think I could pull of what you did...spacing and all, with my sport package?

Sam received the car second week of March. So roughly a bit over a month and a half now? But, there is a reason for the latency. I opted to let Sam document, via video, the whole build. This is the first Nismo with twin turbos anywhere, that I am aware of, and certainly the first 2010. Sam and I wanted to make sure that we learned everything we could about the Nismo...it's differences and nuances...and document all of this properly for the betterment of the community.

I agree. This is why I did not toss the OEM Nismo wheels for Volks or the like. They are incredibly designed wheels...probably the best OEMs I have ever seen...and I knew with the appropriate color and spacing, they would fit the bill perfectly.

I think you could pull it off. I have seen some spaced Sport package wheels that were painted black and/or smoke and they looked spectacular. You would, of course, have to lower the car on coils to obtain the same look, though.

Thanks, Mike! I hate that you are taking time off. I want to do some powder work on the cans of the exhaust and need your help. :) Let me know when you are back to work.

semtex 05-04-2010 09:07 AM

The car looks amazing, Jeremy! I can't wait to see it in person!

Thanks, Ben. I can't wait to have it back so we can all meet up. It will be nice to sport something besides the beater! *haha* Though, I have to admit the DD is a sexy beast. :roflpuke2:

xiven 05-04-2010 09:21 AM

stormcrow,

If you're ever down around exit 5 off of 400 during the week, send me a PM. I'd love to check this out and go for a spin.

LiquidZ 05-04-2010 09:34 AM

Stormcrow,

I noticed in your writeup you specifically talked about the spacers needed to install the kit. I was wondering if you (or Sam) could fill me in on the exact purpose of these spacers? My intuition leads me to believe these spacers will raise the center of gravity of the engine, which is something I do not like.

Also, let me know when you take delivery of the car because I would love to nag you about oil temps. and how they have changed

Never really in the Abernathy area during the week days. But, we could certainly meet up on the weekends. I will be working with Bullitt5897 to get some of the 370 guys together for a meet of our own very soon.

Bullitt used to be my neighbor but now I moved down to the Perimeter area.

semtex 05-04-2010 09:53 AM

Yeah I'm definitely up for a meet with the rest of you local guys. Looking forward to it.

SPOHN 05-04-2010 10:31 AM

Nice build stromcrow. You really did your homework. I think sometimes people tend to leave there builds into the tuners hands and end up spending unnecessary money due to a sales pitch. Been there before.

Also, it's been a couple of years. Are you the same guy that owned a red 350 with Greddy twins? If so, you might remember me. My old screen name from My350z was vizage. Meet you several times. I'm the one who wrecked my nice z in the mountains. You weren't there the moment it happened, but you came up later to check it out. You were very supportive, thanks! Hope the best on your build.

Scott@FontanaNissan 05-04-2010 11:37 AM

Jeremy!!! Long time no hear!! Your car is AMAZING!!! I don't think I've seen a cleaner build than yours. Congrats!!! Will we be seeing you in a few weeks at Auto Club Speedway for the next Redline time Attack???

I will drive down from DC to both eat at Pappadeaux, and stare at this sweeeet build. Very sick, but in a good kind of way; sick.

Come to think of it, I am about due a track day or two at Road ATL and hit up Blood Mountain for a spin........

bullitt5897 05-04-2010 01:18 PM

Papadeaux uses more French fries than mcdonalds lol! I love their seafood though! Its funny you order fried shrimp you get 12 shrimp and a mounain of fries hahaha. Jeremy feel free to text me about the details and when you get your car back! :) btw that reminds me I'm gonna text sam and see how my baby is doing lol he drove it the other day and asked how do I still have kidneys left hehe I guess the hks and hotchkis combo is pretty stiff.

Ohhh and Sam feel free to adjust the suspension for your comfort I have all my settings in a log book and I am not done testing the suspension so have at it brother!

Vegitto-kun 05-04-2010 02:09 PM

These type of posts always make me cry because I cant never get something like this.

I can buy it but I cant ever put it on :(

+1 on doing your homework.

I am the very same guy. And yes, it has been a while. I remember your accident...I also remember being so nervous about it that I had to bum a cigarette from you! *ahaha* How are you liking the G37? (i think that is what you replaced the Z with, no?)

Scott! What's crackin', sir? Thanks for the kudos, mang! I won't be at the next event, but I will definitely be out that way sometime this year to meet up with you. I need to swing by and see Sam and some of the AEPerformance guys, so I will swing by my new home, Fontana Nissan. *haha*

I wish I had seen this thread before I ordered polished piping, I would have gone with the black PC. I guess I could always have them blasted and coated...

The purpose of the spacers is to allow for the different sized turbo housings from Stage 1 all the way through Stage 6. They are small...I think it spaces the engine only 1/4" or a tad better. It will not affect the CG of the engine in the least. :) This is why I saw it as a non-factor for my build.

As far as oil temps go...Sam assures me that his oil cooler will suffice. I hope he is right. If not, I have a backup plan...though Sam doesn't like it! *haha*

I have an oil cooler and an oil pan spacer, and I haven't seen temps over 215 yet. It's 85 degrees here for reference. I don't think you will have an issue with a cooler on.

Guess your not using your turbos sir....jk 215 is about right for me as well
