I'm guessing by your answer that this won't be considered a DIY install.
What if a person has HFC's, CBE, & Tuning by let's say UpRev. Would the UpRev tuning be pretty much useless if the plan was to add your supercharger kit down the road since the vehicle will be re-tuned?

Say the someone orders a Stillen S/C kit and decides to install it themself, would they have to mail in or drop by the shop and have the ECU retuned?

In fact, I would imagine it will be an install option at Nissan dealers who deal with aftermarket products. Hundreds of our superchargers have been installed at the Dealership level for the Z's / G's / Titan / Frontier, etc. Being that the goal is CARB compliancy and 50-state legal, most dealers are comfortable with the install. |

My understanding is that the hp gain from ECU tuning is mostly from ignition advance. Having more ignition advance on a boosted engine at high rpm will give detonation, which destroys engines. So... You need a map with ignition advance when you're not under boost to maintain good power output, throttle response and fuel mileage. Then, under boost, retard the timing to prevent detonation.
This makes tuning an ecu for boost a must. |

I'm hoping for 400+ to the wheels with hfc's, exhaust, & supercharger kit.
