Yup, I’ll get with you in the group chat

And that is definitely not the bearing burnt up from lack of pressurized oil and no coolant.

I think Comp had some engineers in the Emporium to come up with that idea. "Let's spin this spooly boy to 25k rpm but take way the pressurized oil that keeps the metal bits from touching" and then "let take away the cooling system and just blow hot air around the bearing journal "

Welp another boost lab 6870. 1.32 ar is going to find a new home!

So Rusty and JC, who have a combined 115 years of experience with turbochargers, inspected the COMP turbo at Madwi's without taking it apart or doing anything that would void the 'warranty.' It appears that COMP failed to pre-grease the turbocharger. Elmo was kind enough to hook me up with a oil-lubricated, water-cooled snail which should arrive in three weeks or so. And shout out to Madwi for hooking me up with a deeply discounted scavenge pump and knowledge regarding all the miscellaneous items I'll need for that install.

Sasha has been trying to get a RMA from COMPturbo but they have been non-responsive.

Look at the bright side. You had the Lexus instead of the boosted Z to haul my tires back for me at the west Michigan Z meet this year. :stirthepot: Had it not been for that I would have had to haul tires home in my Z.

And Madwi's Z is still broke so I had the perfect excuse to buy him a winch to get his car back on the lift when we needed to use his lift for something more than holding failed comp turdbo dreams.:bowrofl:

You need to be more positive and look at all the good this experience has brought to the community. There is always a silver lining in everything. :tiphat:

And BTW, I'm of very sound mind, I just have no tolerance for BS

Good to see that few of us here still
Look out for one another, from turbo solutions, built motors, to sourcing parts on the fly.

Hey, just a heads up about the scavenger pump. Make sure you pay a bit more for the TurboWerx ExaPump and avoid the "Spartan" pump. I have the Spartan pump but have just found out that they have the potential to leak oil from the front of the pump where everything is bolted down. My pump is already mounted so I'm just going to cross my fingers and keep a watchful eye on it.

Can you maybe take a hammer to it? He's not used to turbos that will run properly.
