I guess I do.

This may motivate some of the dyno fairies out to run

I doubt it. If they knew how I had to drive it to get that they would refuse. It was sketchy at the top end and traction was non existent. I could count the Trac Spec vent louvers on the hood the nose was so high in the air at the end of a run. I could steer it with one finger. That is something I will need to address. I am wonder if the Trac Spec vents aren't causing the problem. Hopefully Solidus will post some video's from YouTube shortly.

You might need a splitter and some canards to keep the front down. I don't think the hood vents was causing any issues. They should help by releasing the air built up under the hood.

Your DOT tires may have been the secret weapon given the conditions!

After talking to my consultant at Professional Awesome Racing the canards will only create additional drag in a straight line. That being said fender vents would be a positive as our front fenders hold a lot of air and it creates a high pressure area that acts as a parachute. The result is lift at high speeds.

I am not sure if it is just the flat out power the engine is making or aero. Maybe we can see it when Solidus post the video's. I am not sure. I am going to drop Seb an email and see what he feels with his car.

It could be that. If that is the issue Seb should feel the same thing I would think.

His car is setup differently than yours from wheels and tires stand point. He maybe running drag radials and his car is sits pretty low. He also has a Zele body kit. All of those things will have impact and I have no idea which way. The track is an airport and the surface is good however wind and sand can also be an issue there as well.

to do in a car I have ever done. I hated it that Eli didn't come.

I guess we will find out. It is freaking difficult.

You know if I could I would have been there for sure!!! At times on Chuckwalla Raceway the wind comes up and covers the track with sand or there will be tornado size dust devil that will cover the track with sand and bring the visibility down to almost zero on the bowl which is a high speed banked turn. Yep, the pucker factor goes off the chart as you don't dare hit the brakes as you skate around the track. You did awesome and it seems like you found your limit with the car in the conditions that were dealt to you. Tenth fast overall ain't no joke....congratulations!!!!:driving::tiphat:

I know the canards add drag. He's fighting front end lift at speed. So it's a trade-off. Lower the front of the car will help.

You would have crapped a gold nugget if you felt the whoops at the end of the run on the right lane. That was the one with more traction that I ran the 163.5 mph. First time I felt that at 162.7 mph it was a big pucker factor.

I am 1/8 in. lower in the front than the rear. It could very well be air being trapped under the front fenders causing lift.

:iagree: It is a series of trade offs as you know. Drag is the devil he is dealing with. If he can get the car lower and mitigate some of the big high pressure airflow zones, add aero that will create downforce to increase his mechanical grip front and rear he will pickup a least 10 more miles per hour in the conditions he was running in.

Haha, welcome to track car hell!!! You got to decide if you want to chase a number or just enjoy going fast and knowing that you have one of the fastest Zs in the Nation...period. You have made your point that your car is faster than all but the fast Zs. Enough said!!! And you can go even faster if you want to play that game. We are all here to help you shake that money tree no matter what you decide. LMAO!!!

True, just a simple alignment change would net some traction and top speed. How much? I do not know.

Roll cage, alignment & play with some aero.
Seeing that you can’t do stationary burnouts prior...line-loc wouldn’t help at these events.
Maybe if your pit crew would have showed up to assist in some adhesive on the mini burnouts :wtf2:

Or run at a different event that doesn't have the runway on a beach?

Do they really not have a burnout box?

Congrats on setting a new standard for the street trim cars. You've got yourself a rocket there, sir.

JARblue 10-22-2019 09:12 AM

Congrats Spooler :driving:

If you're driving it as a street car, why chase?
If you want to attend more top speed events, then it sounds like you have work to do.

Alrighty, let me qualify this upfront by saying all you old bastards my age better not say crap. And you young bastards just be lucky I did'nt edit this biotch with crayons and magic marker. Here's what you've been waiting for.

Come to think of it, why should I share any of this at all. I enjoy my car everyday as it is. I am having a blast. Al and I had one hell of a fun day. We could get out there and run the hell out of our cars without the worry of being thrown in the pokey. I was 10th fastest out of 48 cars. I wouldn't call that needing a ton more work.

It was legit just like 1976 when they first paved our street and put lightpoles up. We played outside till we were just played out. I didn't stop getting in runs because I had to. I stopped because sometimes it's just a good idea to stop. Would've been awesome if there were more Zs there like the Hellcats and Vettes. We could've put on a show. I'm not the fastest but you can't come up on me halfass.

Seb is supposed to go out this Saturday. I hope he does well. I did the best I could do with the track we were delt. If you look at the videos you can see the white concrete dust flying out from behind our cars.

Looking at the video. Looks like that track goes up hill at the end.

It does. The right lane has 4 or five whoops at the end. The left lane has traction issues due to a dip. I need to find a better event location to go to.
