Good Luck Spooler :tiphat: I’d definitely be headed south if I didn’t commit earlier to a northern trip :ugh2:
Hope you smash the Top-Speed record!
I’m thinking they make that same run around January/February with cooler/denser air :yum:

Went out playing this morning in the cool weather. No traction. This is going to be tough.

At what temperature do you start seeing a significant decrease in traction Spooler?

Be safe this weekend and have fun !

When it went from 90's to 80s. Now it has gone from 80's to 70's-60. The colder it get's the longer warm up time on the tires. It looks like rain Saturday in Ocala. Not happy.

Oh any wetness is gonna be nerve wrecking for a run of this type....best of luck and stay safe.

On the other hand, there’s always a next time, plenty of other chances to achieve your goal.

Rusty 10-17-2019 08:46 PM

Spooler, be carefully bud.

Al said it should be dry in the morning. Either have to send it sooner and just back off and have fun.

Hopefully, time to raise some H E double Hockey sticks.

If it is wet, it's just going to stay on the trailer. It's dangerous running it all out in the dry. In the wet, forget it.

No, we didn’t get the cancellation notification until we were past the point of turning back, got there at 12:30 and the ******* working the gate wouldn’t let us in to check for spooler even though we had pit crew passes/tickets. So, thew a hale Mary and went to the Hilton hotel that was the sponsor hotel for the event in the remote chance he would be there, no dice, I pmd him at that time but never heard back.

All was not lost however, wife and I found out jeeptoberfest is going on this weekend at Ocala as well, apparently this is an annual thing, so hopefully we’ll be able to attend one year, it’s full up this year for the trail riding. Lots of cool rigs out and about, my hand hurts from all the waving. :hello:

It is beautiful up there though, we could def see ourselves on a small homestead of a couple acres and big 8 car garage out back etc.

Edit: just double checked my pms, I must’ve not sent a pm this afternoon when we got to the hotel, oops, I remember talking about it with wifey, must’ve just forgot to actually do it, derp.

Rusty 10-19-2019 08:39 PM

Spooler should be running tomorrow. :driving:

Hope you Smash the record; keep posting- as I know about what speed you’re gonna have to reach before applying full boost :wtf2:
Had to show Betty the short video clip & he was like :eek::eek:

solidus 10-20-2019 08:25 PM

Hey folks, we got plenty runs in today. Didn't get the numbers we expected but it was definitely fun and an eye opener. Not that it's a worthy excuse but the surface there was extremely sandy and I was spinning through 1/4 mile. After trying everything I ended up putting Ecutek traction control at 100% which gave me consistent 151mph runs and even then the rear was loose all over the track when shifting. Spoolers best I think was 162 but I'll let him tell it. He should be driving and drinking a mountain dew right now. I was 14 of 48 in rwd and I believe he was 8 of 48 in rwd. I'll speak on it more tomorrow I'm dead tired.

Spooler 10-20-2019 10:42 PM

My best was actually 163.5mph and 10th out of 48 RWD cars. I was skating all over the place until I hit 4th or 5th. It is hard to get traction down on dusty old concrete. Your guys need to go look at the times. Full bolt on Tuned GTR's were only running in the 138mph/144mph range. Very few folks were in the 150's or above. So as far as FPenvy, He is not even in the class of our cars. Dig or not. Solidus and I had our hands full. It was UGLY!!! The guys with Quality traction control in our HP range ran in the 177/180mph range. Most notably, 2- 911 Turbo S's that were modified and tuned. The biggest laugh was all the Z06 Corvette's and HellKitties. They were in the 13xmph speeds. That's it. Loud as all get out and slow as molasses.

Spooler 10-20-2019 11:17 PM

Sorry guys, No video's from me. Elmo370z had a major water leak he had to attend to and couldn't make it on Sunday since Saturday was cancelled.

Spooler 10-20-2019 11:19 PM

I will have to think about what I want to do to help with this issue. I know what may work, I am just not sure if I want to keep going. I'll need to think on it. The next mods are not cheap at all.

Question. You remember what gear and rpm you was at, at the end.

I was in 6th. RPM I have no idea. Way too many things going on that are more important. I was slipping and
sliding all over the place. It was dang hard to keep my head on straight.

redondoaveb 10-20-2019 11:37 PM

Didn't I read somewhere else that they've had issue's in the past with sand/dirt on the track and people were complaining about the slick dangerous conditions?

No idea. Only us crazy folks would keep our foot in it and keep pushing it. The car didn't do anything stupid so I would just hold the throttle input and ride it out. I had traction control off and no ECutek traction control. Why, because that stuff don't work either since it is based off the factory ECU. I was manhandling that bitch, old school way.

You missed one hell of a show. Folks would talk to Solidus, They wouldn't say anything to me. LOL I was wondering what everyone was saying about the 370z pouncing.

jchammond 10-21-2019 05:22 AM

Awesome speed man :tiphat:
They should have at least ran a blower down each lane to clear the sandy debris :shakes head:
Dragstrip s do a much better job; including the VHT (adhesive compounds) they will put on launch pads :ugh2:

You should see my car. We drove on the track for 30 to 40min in the morning to dry it out. My car needs washing again from all the white water spray that was kicked up.

Spooler 10-21-2019 05:49 PM

jchammond brought up a good point. I am the fastest 370z in street trim (full interior) with DOT tires. Dynosty's car was an all out drag car with no interior, big as slicks, and downturns with no mufflers. The guy with the G35 that ran a 172.5 was also an all out drag car with slicks and no interior.

I am the fastest street trim 370z on DOT tires, period. JC says I have a new record.
I guess I do.

The hell with it. I am claiming the fastest 370z in street trim with DOT tires. Read'em and weep. To get as close
as I did without slicks is crazy.
