What kind of coolant were you using when your car spiked up in temp?

I never ran my car on a track course. I don't ever plan on it since my entire set up would be useless on a track but for highway runs, I've taken it up to 180ish and let go. Boost cut off is at 32psi. After a few back to back runs my coolant temps would shoot around 220F.

I've been using the blue Honda coolant. That $hit has been working wonders for me. Maybe you should try the Honda coolant.

Spooler, you have done a lot to open doors for people in this community with regards to FI for the VQ. Being a trailblazer is never an easy road to walk and it should be expected that more failures will be had than success.
That being said, observationally, it seems that you are letting this whole process drain you of the passion that may have inspired this journey to begin with. It's the internet, calm down a little and enjoy your car. It's a mass produced sports car from Nissan that was never intended to push that much power. Things are gonna break, chit is gonna hit the fan and it's gonna get to you. Expect that even best laid plans aren't gonna pan out and people are gonna try and get under your skin (either intentionally or unintentionally).
I don't know you or anyone else beyond this forum, so take things with a grain of salt and ENJOY THE CAR!

You know what they say: if you can't take the heat, there's probably an air pocket in your coolant system.

I’ve been following your build since the beginning bud and as a third party with no alterior motives, I think you let the black hole swallow you up and you just got too greedy.

Originally it was just a big build to make you happy to hell with the dyno numbers or trap speeds etc. but, everyone egged you on, you got a bit competitive/obsessed and you started chasing numbers.

I think you’ve found the limit on this platform and frankly your passed it by some, I mean, don’t take this the wrong way but how much did those 5 passes cost yoy per pass? I’m not saying any of this yo be a d1ck, but rather to give an outside friend’s perspective.

The whole point of this hobby, unless you get a paycheck from it, is fun and pushing YOUR goals etc, not for me, or Elmo or any jackhole on the ‘gram etc.

Figure out what you want to do, either dial the car back 100wp or so and enjoy the hell out of it for a lot less $$$ per mile, or sell and move up to a better faster starting platform. The road you’re going down now will only end up with your car broken and your wallet empty. And no one here egging you on is gonna gove you compensation go any of it. Oh, and that ego stroking fame you’ve been getting here and on social will be gone in an instant and folks will move onto whoever the new hotness is like jc or Elmo or someone else going down this road.

You’re kinda turning into a cautionary tale man, pull chute before it’s too late. :tiphat::tiphat:

66 Chevelle.... :yum::yum:

Though I still reallyreallyreally want a 67. :yum::yum:

Speaking of cars for sale, my dad has a couple; a 21 T roadster truck and a 23 T 5 passenger roadster for sale. The 23 needs a front wheel & bearing, it's got wooden wheels and the hub failed. He'll go $7500 on the truck, and maybe $4k on the 5 passenger. I think the 5 passenger is a 23, I'll have to double check.

I still miss my ‘70 SS clone. Never should have sold it, or my k5. :shakes head:

The two (out of top three) that got away. :(.

Spooler will calm down, just give him some extra (cyber) room to take it all in.

Maiden voyage and it had go up against some seasoned monster, it did quite alright in the grand scheme.

Good luck Spooler.

Time heals all wounds .

With that being said a 370z is at a disadvantage with the transmission and the turbo kits that are available. Even the best TT kit we have Fast Intentions doesn't even come close to what GTR's have available. The use of compact compressor housing will have its limits the kit uses 3 inch inlets and 2 inch outlets. This will limit total power output they use bigger inlets bigger down pipes etc once the want to get well into the triple digits.

Spooler was loan wolf out there fighting monsters

Some custom 3.5" tubing to the inlets should help a bit. Custom 2.5" outlets just to get from the turbo the front of the motor and then go up. Custom set of hybrid turbos made up to fit the FI manifolds. Lately the GTR community is popularly using the stock turbos as a starting point for all the way up to 1100-1200whp... for example: https://www.boostlogic.com/product/1050x-turbo-kit/

Given, they are really only carrying over the manifold with turbine housing. You can see where they weld to the turbine housing area a bit to get an entirely other turbo to bolt up. No doubt that inside the housing is machined out to fit a larger wheel.

Id say that starting with the FI turbo kit has a leg up on starting with the tiny stock GTR manifolds and turbine housings. I think those BL turbos making 1200 linked above are based on the newer Garrett G-Series, but I havent investigated it
