Okay cool I thought it did just wanted to make sure.

That makes it all the more easier for us instead of finding exact sizes to compensate for pulley sizes lol.

Thank goodness for whoever invented self tensioners for the serp side main belt and the SC belt lol

The supercharger side is a manual tensioner, not a self tensioner.

Well still, haha.
We can still push it up rather than needing to buy a 2nd belt xD
That's what I'm grateful for!

/keeping my blower going to repair it and use it then put two shipping plugs on it instead of one to keep the oil from spilling.

i have a sound clip straight from 928motorsports representative saying that vortech recommends this.

[Update]:

928 Bearings Rebuild Package finally came in this afternoon.

Will have the blower rebuilt tomorrow by the same person who built it earlier this year!

Then going to have it installed probably Friday.

Here's hoping that I can be back on the road soon!

I've never heard of Vortech recommending using the shipping plugs instead of the breather plug, instead the exact opposite. So I think what you say 928 says in "a soundclip" is BS!

"Once installed in the car you MUST install the vent or the case will over pressurize and blow the seals out".

"The solution for the spilling out the breather hole is to fill the unit with less than 4 ounces".

"After pressing Vortech tech help on the issue they tell me that for road racing in particular you need just 2.5 to 3 ounces to compensate for the oil expanding at temperature. More than that amount and it barfs it out".

I've only heard of one person's seals blowing out throughout all the people who seal both holes with shipping plugs with 928 upgrade.

Filling it up with 4 oz and then having it spill is pretty much the same thing IMO as filling it up with less than 4 oz it will stop when it stops.

You're right. They did recommend the exact opposite at one point.
Either 928 is lying out of their *** so they can make Vortech look bad, and that they can get more business from broke 928 blowers just for plugging both holes up, or they are telling the truth because they are finding out that tons of people are calling 928 and letting them know that plugging up both holes is actually working for them.

Not sure.

I guess we'll find out.

Either case, I'd rather blow out the seals than seize it up if I had to choose one or the other

928 basically told me the same thing although they didn't say Vortech recommends plugging the vent hole, they did say that Vortech told them it would not hurt it. Needless to say, I wasn't willing to take that chance but I was thinking of putting a pressure gauge on there to see how much pressure it does produce.

Well I called them 2 weeks ago and they told me that Vortech told them that; not sure how recent you spoke to them about it though

It's been a couple of months when I talked to them.

I would love to see something in writing from Vortech where they recommend running 2.5 to 3 ounces instead of 4. Then I could put my 2.85 pulley back on and not have to worry about oil spitting out. I know some people run them a little low but 2.5 to 3 seems excessively low.

I agree. Something in writing would be amazing. Although mine seized up due to having sufficient oil to low enough to where it stopped working lol. Which means it consistently spilled out. How much was left? Not sure. I should have measured it but I didn't lol.

Plugging both holes... ill let you guys know how it goes, xD

Why would vortech go through the trouble and cost of having a machined plug replace an already installed plug if it serves no purpose?
