I would not recommend doing it! The original owner of my kit re-did the bearings himself and the first thing I had to do was get a minor rebuild (bearings and seals). It's expensive, but with things rotating that fast, the slightest mistake could lead to another rebuild, best case, or complete failure, worst case. I would want the peace of mind that someone knowledgeable did the work and will stand by it in the form of some kind of workmanship warranty. I feel mechanically savvy and I wouldn't do it myself.
