Default Throughout Bearing?

I have a Z with about 3,000 miles on it. When im in nuetral with no foot on the clutch the car is making some noise from the trans. When I press the clutch down the noise goes away. WTF? Seems to be the throughout bearing in my experience's. Anyone else have this? Thanks.

it's probably the input shaft noise, sounds faintly like gears or a bit rumbly and is quiet enoughthat if you turn on the radio you can't hear it. worse before you drive the car than after a trip on the highway. If so it's totally normal it just does that.

I's normal. Not the throw-out bearing.

had the same problem....Nissan replaced the transmission free of charge....

my tech told me it is the shaft and through out bearing....Nissan said no repair can be made so they replaced the transmission.....problem started aprox 11k .....

z cars are famous for shitty through out bearings dating all the way back to my 1970 240z....

tell your service tech to replace transmission....Nissan is very aware of the issues..

There will be some extra noise from the trans while the clutch pedal is released because then the input shaft is moving and turning the bearing in the front part of the transmission case and TO bearing. If it gets excessive then it's time to have someone take a look at it.
