Kyle@STILLEN 02-26-2010 06:53 PM

Today's testing went extremely well!

We had a few goals today and quite a lot of data logging equipment inside the car. We were monitoring a lot of different data points and wanted to put the car through stressful environments, high speed tests, hard launch tests and more to see how everything would perform. We are extremely proud to say that the test could not have been better. Steve was able to really lean on the car and push it hard. We started out with a few simple high speed runs to well over 120+ MPH. Then after that was done we switched over to a tight course to really load up the car and try to get it warm and pushing hard. Then finished up with some really hard driving and let the tires burn!!!

It was really good that we were able to test the supecharger on the automatic gearbox G37. It really proved that the gearbox could handle the power and we were all impressed with its performance. Smooth clean shifts every time and no hang ups at all. Most impressive was the performance during the abuse tests...You'll see the video's on that soon!

At the end of the day Steve commented on how impressed he was with the low-end performance and responsiveness. We all know that centrifugals are known for having a lag similar to turbo's but he was commenting on how impressed he was with the ability to stand on the throttle at lower RPM to aid the car in rotating through the corner. Which is something that he was very concerned about.

I will update this post later tonight with some photos and a short teaser video.

Here is the short teaser video that Josh shot on his Iphone...We know it's not super HD quality but it should be good for now. You can see everyone standing around with cameras and what not we will edit the footage next week when things slow down a little.

StillenZ 02-26-2010 07:03 PM

WOW... I'm jealous of you guys for sure... Sounds like a fun time... I want your job lol

kdoske 02-26-2010 07:23 PM

awesome update, can't wait for the vids.

roplusbee 02-26-2010 07:24 PM

I can't wait. Hopefully, this will sway me toward going F/I. I still plan on staying with the TDX and either RTPs or LTHs. Hopefully that will not pose a problem with the SC system. I know it was discussed, but I don't remember reading anything definitive. Guess I will find out once I take the plunge.

We did not focus on 1/4 mile or 0-60 tests today for a few reasons. 1) this was done at an old air base so the runway was very dirty and broken up, traction was hard enough as it was. Also with this being an automatic we want to wait until we can switch the kit to our manual z.

Gotcha..Do you plan on getting any track times? pomona raceway or iphone app.? ha
I'd rather see a car on the track than dyno numbers.

roplusbee 02-26-2010 09:44 PM

+1 for the manual Z.

I have heard that Pomona shut down to the public a few years ago? I think the only dragstrips near us anymore are about an hour to an hour and a half away and they're only 1/8th mike if I remember correctly.

However Josh and I both have iPhones with 1/4 mile apps that we could probably use so I'm not counting it out entirely.

We do plan on giving the car to some magazines for testing and I'm sure they will perform those tests.

Josh@STILLEN 02-27-2010 12:24 AM

Some fun shots that took place today.. (yes it's a G.. deal with it.. :P)

I could've done that with my N/A G Josh! Come on now show us something to feed our hunger! haha

Non-sport 18's FTL btw haha

shumby 02-27-2010 06:42 AM

why waiting for 1/4 mile times on the MT. we all know and the time slips prove the A/T is faster. :)

Guys, the vid is very unimpressive. Sorry. Do we have pricing and dynos yet on this beast? I realy need to decide which way I'm going on mods...:stirthepot:

Mock the wheels all you want.. but they clear the AP Racing 6-Piston Front and 4-Piston rear big brake kit.. wouldn't be bad for cheap track wheels with some uber sticky tires..

This isn't the "supercharger" vid.. LOL.. it's a quick shot from my iphone during high performance testing that we did yesterday and shows that in addition to normal driveability we've also been beating on the car a bit, as well as the auto trans to do what should be done with this type of application.. all kinds of testing.

Yea, I know they still do them in the parking lot there but aren't they only an 1/8 mile? I could be wrong, I'm not a big fan of drag racing so I'll admit that I'm not up to speed on the local tracks. When I go to Fontana I prefer to go to the infield road course and race around the track.

SeeyaBud86 02-27-2010 11:22 AM

Looking good, thanks for the pics/vids guys
