Have you ever tried putting a vacuum gauge on there to see how bad it is?
I have confused things a bit:

In the regular kit it isnt the filters per say that are the bottle neck, its the intake track. In order to get a boot on the sc, since it is placed so close to the rad shroud, they put a restrictive boot on it that has about an inch of clearance from the blades.

In going from that boot to the direct filter I use in my kit (Air to Air) then it opens up the sc to breath better. However, the supercharger would LOVE a bigger filter than the one I provide but there just isnt the room to do it.

This is why I am looking at building a whole new setup using the V3. Its capable of 600. The stillen bracket placement of the unit is not. Well, unless you want to run without a filter.

I have dyno sheets of my setup with the filter on then with it off. Back to back runs. Ill post them up when i get home to take pics of them.

I just unpacked the kit to get ready to install it on that car here and NOW I see what you are talking out. L.O.L. what a piece. Definitely will be putting some thought into possible ways to avoid using that particular component.

It's a good thing you and Topz are putting thought into it.. It seems clear that Stillen didn't devote much.

Having been in the industry a long time I can tell you that almost every forced induction kit I have ever installed was more of a "Starter Kit" than advertised. Having somewhat recently made the executive decision to not sell our CJM turbo system parts in a "complete kit", it is easy for me to relate with why it is like this.

There is really no end to it. You can just keep going forever and ever. There has to be a point where a product designer says ENOUGH and hits the release button. Each manufacturer has to decide where they want to draw that line. Sometimes you are better off getting less as the consumer, because you can use that leftover money to customize to your own preference.

When I first got started in the industry around year 2000, back then MOST F.I. kits would without a doubt blow your engine in short time without lots of improvement, especially in the fuel and tuning department. They just focused on getting you the hard parts that you need along with the BARE MINIMUM to get the car to drive down the street.

You also have my A2A kit in your hands that is going on that car right? You ditch the suffocation boot and use the direct fit filter I include in the kit.

Yup. I didnt realize you also included parts for the intake.. I figured it was just the intercooler kit.
