FYI... Production has already started on the pre-order kits... There will be 10-13 kits available by mid july. This means there are about 5 slots left for the Pre-order discount. PM me if you want to get $500 off the kit!

bullitt5897 06-01-2018 09:29 AM

Bobby posted a video last night on facebook of the new intake collector being cut in OP1 of 2. This lowers the Throttle bodies under the hood meaning a smaller foot print peaking through the hood.

batboyvaj 06-01-2018 09:45 AM

bullitt, do you know if there are plans to develop a kit that runs a Rotrex C38R? It's for those of us that don't want to have anything sticking out of the hood.

There are no plans for a rotrex style kit after reviewing its performance capabilities.

I am order #02 and hoping Bobby does something a bit crazy with mine. Maybe a mini gun or something along those lines. We shall see how long my stock 7AT last before I have to drop the trans and send to RJM. Unlike a previous post I saw, my wife doesn't even know I placed the order. I most likely will be the first or only roadster with this kit so I can see a custom roll cage and Recaro seats with 6 point harness in my future. I just can't wait to see the final hood as the cad renderings look good. Maybe change the sides to have actual vents?

There won't be a hood. They said they are going to be doing a cowl add on for stock hood you'll have to cut. (Last i heard of course)

correct. the cost for a hood on small batches is too high to market. a hood cowl is much more cost effective.

When will we know what said cowl looks like?

Physical Prototyping is about to begin

BlackElectric 08-08-2018 02:24 PM

What's the status on this, how has prototyping gone? Looking at superchargers in the next 12-18 months.

Introducing the RJM Positive Displacement Supercharger Kit!

bullitt5897 08-17-2018 12:56 PM

Sorry for the lack of replies... Life has kept me stupid busy! The kits are actually shipping now. Several pre order owners will be receiving their kits next week.

Ladies and Gents,

As many of you know we pride ourselves in our products, workmanship, value and innovation. With that said we want to get your market feedback on whether we introduce another kit onto the market. We are looking into three platforms:

1. The highly successful Rotrex style kit that a previous manufacturer built upon. With this we would be starting every kit with a C38 sized supercharger. The max we could pull out of this Super charger would be somewhere in the low to mid 600whp range.

2. The votech or procharger style supercharger in either a V2/V3 trim or a C2 from procharger. This style kit like the other will be based on efficiency and performance. We will be doing a full air to air setup on this as well. We would be looking at a similar power level as well in the low to mid 600whp range.

3. A Roots style super changer using a (W175AX) trim. we would also be running an Air to water setup as well. This kit would require hood cutting as the space available isnt enough. There is also a likelihood we would have to redesign a strut bar for this kit as well. The positive of this setup is max boost for a larger portion of the powerband.

What we would like to gauge from the market is what you would like to see. What you would be willing to put your money on.

The kit we produce will be made 100% here in the USA. It will use the highest quality hardware and not break your bank. We want to produce a kit that the track guys can take on the track run a whole session of fast laps and not be worried about heat. For the canyon driver to be able to get out of the corner faster with linear power band and predictable traction. We are looking to build a kit that doesnt require a motor build to have fun in the forced induction family. It will be paired with safe and reliable tuning and will be designed for those who want to run headers or a new intake manifold...

So your options in the poll are this:

1. Rotrex design similar to what was produced earlier and is no longer available. (including pulleys)

2. A vortech or procharged unit more efficient than whats on the market.

3. A Whipple roots style system that would require cutting your hood...

Just seems like yesterday....

It's been a while. So how is it running? Any issues? Numbers?

His car is being tuned right now. Lots of changes and custom work outside of the kit went into this car. RJM was relying on a tuner but that tuner was not making themselves available. I could empathize with rich and offered up one of my ecutek cables and dongles and tuner I am working with offered to upgrade rich to ecutek. So right now Bobby has been doing driveability tuning with Eugene Turkov. The plan is to have the car on the final dyno next week. I would have to confirm with RJM though.

Most of the delay on this car has been from relying on third party shops to do work. As most of you know RJM is a parts manufacturer not a performance shop. There are no lifts and no power tools to work on cars. It’s a cnc manufacturing shop. Additionally, RJM took on another build the awd g37. Rich’s car has been running and driving just fine for months sadly the tuning situation was not expedient and should have been. The awd g37 is an insane build with multiple shops touching the car. It’s currently at another shop getting the interior put back in and then it will be tuning.

That’s as much as I know meanwhile there are several guys with the kits on their cars.

That's more like holding your car hostage.

Seems like RJM is active on the VR30 side of things

JARblue 01-15-2020 12:38 AM

Sorry to hear this, Rich :(

Hope you get your car back soon. And that it runs :driving:

gbrettin 01-15-2020 06:48 AM

Hard to justify 3years. I've literally picked every part for an engine that I hand built, had a performance transmission built and am now plumbing a custom twin turbo kit. Nothing has been rushed, I'm not a mechanic, and I'm about 1.5 year in. If my patch work build sees the light of day before a "professional" build, that's sad. No way else to put it.

:iagree:, lawyer in tow. I don't understand how people get away w/ $h!t like this, especially the same people repeatedly. Heads should roll for this kind of stuff.

He made enough money to start producing “prototype twin turbo kit for VR”. I would just show up with a truck and trailer get my **** and bounce.
