Even though I won't be after this SC kit as I already bought a TT kit, I still waiting on the hood. Wouldn't mind a new hood :) :) :)

People would spend hundreds on non-functional ill-fitting body panels to get them to line up only decently. But when it comes to putting a tapered hood to cover a functional mod that puts them into a different power bracket they go "oh-hell naw that's crazy, no deal." Keep up the good work RJ MFG, keep giving the VHR platform more support. |
Hypothetically this could be a big deal.

What people need to understand is there's a reason a supercharger kit like this doesn't already exist. There's just physically no room for it under the hood. If you want a positive displacement supercharger then this is what you're going to have to deal with. There's no other way around it. |
Part of the appeal of this car to me are the lines, which includes the nose/hood. I have been on the fence on this waiting to see a finished sorted product and second to see if the hood has to be modified. I am keenly interested in a s/c kit but also not destroying the lines and keeping the stock (stealth) appearance. I will continue to monitor to see the finished sorted product and then decide on whether it is worth modifying the hood for. One step at a time.

I'm sorry I'm a little late on this subject but do they offer a new hood to accommodate the supercharger or do you have to modify your current one?
|
They will offer one for extra cost.

Sorry for being away for a few weeks. Life is just slammed! between my day job, putting together the White Dragon, my family and helping RJM not much time for the forums.
I can say the RJM team had fallen behind on a few manufacturing products for inventory and for their private label customers. Regardless the project is still a "go" The new intercooler should be in any day now. Once that is in we will get some more mockup pictures going for you guys. As far as hoods go. That is on a back burner for me as I have to get my car up and running. I finally have my car back on the ground and should be up and running in the next few weeks. I already secured a deal with Sebastian at Fly1 for a carbon hood. Once that is available and in my hands I will begin on the hood. |
Did you get the AMS hood?
|
Yes I did

Sweet.

Looks legit.
|
What are those "just core" dimensions?
Now you have me looking up efficiency tables of vortech v3 vs. 2.3l whipples. Doesn't look a ton bigger than what's been done before.... |

Hey everybody. We received our long lead time items and are looking to get our production pieces into the production schedule. We will be bringing more updates. We did receive the New intercooler core specifically designed for the 2.9L Whipple WAX175 unit and our VQ motors. This intercooler core is rated to handle up to 1200hp in our application. Please stay tuned. Some more mock up pictures and updates will be coming in the coming weeks.

This isn't all of them but you get the gist of it. Can't wait to see the production lower plenum and the whipple perched on top

Nice! Looks like you guys bead blasted the AN fittings. You worried about glass getting in the core or leaking now that the sealing surface isn't nice and shiny?
Also looks like there may be room to loose another 1/2 inch off the height of that red piece. Align the AN fitting to go between the bolts on the block not right out where the screw hole is. Maybe even consider making the ports on the other side and then loose even more off the height. Progress is looking promissing!:tiphat: |
Any UpDates? been 10 day's or so since last one.
|
Looks good. Nice welds and sturdy construction.
Any pics with the SC mounted? |
twin turbo kits are costly for my automatic would like to be around 500 to 550 so the rotrex or procharger would be nice for me.
