That's not off the table... from the last development meeting they stated they are going to work on a serpentine setup for the street guys since that is 90% of the market. Cog will most likely come later.

RJ MFG 03-28-2017 05:03 PM

Small Update:

Due to the concern over the cog vs serpentine wear on the supercharger snout. We have elected to stock all the stage 1 kits with an 8 rib serpentine setup. The reason for 8 rib should be obvious as it will allow users to run higher boosts without having to change idlers and crank pulley. Again we are designing the kit to run a separate belt from your main belt in the instance of a failure of the blower belt you aren't stranded.

In addition to that we should have final design renders here in the coming days. There have been a lot of fine tuning behind the scenes to make sure this thing fits like a glove.

Sorry for the delays in updates

Right now we have our 3d printer, spare motor and everything at one of our engineers homes so that they can work into the after hours on it. As soon as we have the finalized design we will post up. Also we are in the middle of moving into our new space. Once we are settled we will have a big open house. I would expect it to follow Zdayz. Until then we are heads down on completing orders, moving and designing new products for the VQ and new VR platform.

Yup I asked this a while back in another thread. Nobody seems to know the answer, I even asked Level10 but did not get a reply on this.

I think people do not care because there are already bulletproof 7AT options available if you got the $$$.

These transmissions are $7k+ so you can buy an oem one for $7k+ or you can build yours for $5k...

Which is the better deal?

$7k+ and 400ftlbs limit
Or
$5k and 800+ftlbs limit

They're going for $7K used?

He's speaking of a new 7A/T from Nissan, (pt#310C0-X988D)...as much as $8500 tht i've seen,,,They can only withstand 400ft.lbs.Tq. (probably input) & the built 7A/T can withstand 800ft.lbs. for $5,000 Built.

bullitt5897 03-30-2017 07:26 AM

The problem I have is your going through hoops to bandaid a problem. So what if you get one for less than $5k. You still have a transmission that can break... or you can get a fully built trans that can take whatever you throw at it. To me it's a clear decision but that's probably because I have built so many of these cars that I am at a point to spend money where it counts. Going cheap just means double the labor in 90%+ cases... and then buying the right part the after I spent money on the cheap fix...

Streetz 03-30-2017 07:59 AM

Maybe I missed a couple post's ,but who has had success with the level ten trans and high HP?

I was talking with fast intentions yesterday and their experience is good so far.

Ok ok, I thought you were talking about the Jatco 7sp trans found in the QX56 and some Nissan Titans. Also uses a RE7R01 trans like the Zs, but have a higher torque rating.

That is the part number & price of the transmission factory installed in the Z,,,model #'s are JR710E/JR711E & yes- they are built by Jatco.
I didn't know there was a discussion about installing the larger version's,used in the SUV's etc...

jchammond 03-30-2017 07:32 PM

Heck,,,just put a Lenco in it.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...dab958334a.jpg

Well that's what I was saying. We don't know if we can use the larger version in our Zs. Probably not.

The newest 5.6L V8 Titan truck puts out 390hp & 394tq @flywheel...just say's 7sp.A/T
unsure of model # or power handling of it.

The one with the Cummins 5.0L & 555tq. comes with an Allison 6sp.auto & not a 7sp Jatco...Looking like 400'ish TQ is about the limit on stock 7A/T's...& being able to have one built to withstand 800+TQ 1000HP is pretty good, considering 1st gear is nearly 5:1

shadow85 03-31-2017 05:37 AM

400 ftlb ~= 540 Nm of torque. This is pretty good for a stock trans that wasn't designed for forced induction yeah?

Except the 370z does not have 400ftlb from factory.
http://www.the370z.com/forced-induct...370z-info.html

The 370z has the RE7R01A, the B is the higher rated transmission in other Nissan/Infiniti cars which has been discussed if possible to just put in a 370z but never done. Probably because in is just cheaper to build the factory transmission at that point.
Torque Rating:
RE7R01A: 400Nm (295lb)
RE7R01B: 600Nm (442lb)

shadow85 04-01-2017 04:28 PM

So any ETA when the kits are going to be released?

MCLOVIN 04-01-2017 05:22 PM

Or maybe some more hood renders?

The release was always set for Zdayz. The hope is to have it earlier. As for the hood renders I am waiting on a donor hood so I can make it. Just trying to find someone willing to sell me a hood and not at $1k because I am doing this out of my own pocket...

That is correct. We are planning to release the kit at Zdayz 2017. However, if testing goes well we will open a pre-order group buy limited to 10 kits at a discounted price. You will want to be in on this group buy! After the first 10 kits are sold it is set to the MSRP which will still be less than $10k full turnkey.

Bullitt, how come RJM isn't funding the development of the hood with you? I thought you two are collaborating together.

MCLOVIN 04-02-2017 08:01 PM

I would donate mine if I knew I would get it back lol

bullitt5897 04-03-2017 06:26 PM

I bought a hood hopefully it will be here by weeks end. If not first of next week. Once I get it I will start the mock up

For me I keep thinking about how the heck are you going to blend in that neck and pulley that far forward on the hood and make it look like it's supposed to be there. Need to figure out a replacement strut brace while you're at it too.

It's going to take some work that's for sure. As for the strut bar they may make one after the launch.

Vaidol 04-10-2017 02:49 AM

Is there a time frame for this to come to market?
